Nothing fancy here but practical with no shortage of power.

The wife's Jeep with the V8 package one morning:

About 18" of snow.

My Surburban with the 454 Vortec engine:

Knocked some snow off the windshields and drove both out the drive. While I dragged some neighbors out of snow drifts and cleanned our Jeep & Truck my neighbor cleared the drive and I put the vehicles back:

Nope, they aren't a pretty or fancy ride but when things get ugly they are reliable and go in snow.

Nice rig dude. You ought to come out with us next time we go to Crozet or Tellico. We're not too far from Va Beach, on I85 on the NC/VA border.

Used Car Search - Ford Lincoln Mercury Used Cars Trucks and SUV's - McKie Ford Lincoln Mercury of Rapid City South Dakota is the car I'm really thinking about getting, maybe even tomorrow. Be a good way to help build credit, and I have the money right now... and I should be able to get that car for less than 9 grand (that's my starting point... there's a similar sebring at a nearby dealer going for that price, and while overall it doesnt seem as nice, it's got an alarm and a dvd system that I can use to haggle the price down.)

If I can get the price down to 8500 or even 8000 (which seems possible), plus my contour, which I should be able to get top value for (cars like that are scarse right now, I've noticed after car hunting today) for it. (which is still like, 2 grand, lol.)

Driving that thing was nice.... felt just like a contour, but with more power, and without looking like a contour. I really hope I can get it, lol.

Atmittedly this is more use for camping and what not than anyting else. Drew is our turn it up sided down nut job around here.
At least you took my rubbing in style...thanks! There's always that vehicle thing going on since GM made something to compete with the Model-T.

You might be surprised what you do in the next couple years...or months. I bought the Liberty because the TJ wasn't really all around friendly. I was on the road doing field service, holding 1/4-mil worth of test equipment, and that veritable camping mule thing. Hey, it's no fun unpacking a wrangler for an hour while the others are out scooting around already. Leave the liberty for the womens to deal with and go play!

I was worried about scratches for just a bit. The liberty was new, and got pissed when a shopping cart put a dent in the fender. It's next journey was to Kansas. On the way back to Bakersfield, she hit a elk in Flagstaff. Not a deer, a FREAKING ELK. It was midhop, so I just ripped it's belly open. The trucker I was jawing to a mile behind me stopped to deal with the poor creature. Gross. I didn't want to fire the pistol in fear of hunting laws, so the trucker took my SOG 2000 and did it in. Nasty, but got some meat I guess (he had a tag). LOL...man, it was stuck on the libby looking at me in the window as I tried to stop. Sad, sad night.

So much for the little shopping cart dent! It's balls out time after that. I wipe the new off things in less than 2 months each and every time. But the libby got the name "popeye" from having one squinted eye for a while.

What's your point BNB? Well, my point is guys with cars...car guys...do their own work. You guys are building cars, doing your thing. You see what others have, but you know first hand what you need and what you don't. You get rubbed by others, but you can easily fire back without a thought what you really think. I think that's the fun part of cars, and computers! That little scratch opened up time to go to work.

Hummers need winches to pull their asses out of mall parking lots. Jeeps and Toyotas need them to keep balance. Because it's the driver, the mentality, and that ability....not all the parts you can throw at it. ya...like a computer (the hummer is now nothing better than a 1994 GMC Z-71. Talk about putting aged!)

And ya, there's a hot chick rolling an SAS cruiser down here in SoCal. It wheels very well, and she's got more balls than I've found on myself in the last inspection. Really, really, fun to watch that thing do what it does with her out there showing us up. With my recent final hate of IFS, I gotta do it or get shown up by a girl...in a capable Toyota. I think it'll be more fun to have a girl jeep doing that stuff. Shock effect. Have the parts on hand, ready to go as of Saturday. It's my main vehicle though...so it's timing from here on out.

There's a CJ7 in the garage BTW. It still isn't finished and is in constant re-work to get stuff "right". I missed raising the engine (vortec V6) an inch, and that has been a LOT of rework. Tub off again, and if I get it right this time I'm ready for I can finish it up by the time fall hits. It's pretty, but only for others really. I know I screwed up at square 2 and have to mess up all the pretty to get it corrected. Hind sight sucks majorly. The scratches so far are from work and not play. I need to dent the shit out of it quick!

Here's just some random pics I have. No comment from me, just tossing some out on past and present vehicles...

And my 1st car (VW SuperBeetle was built during this time, so it's kind of a second...but had her first...my cherry!)

Hope my daughter Sarah isn't a geek like me and searches this stuff, but she's got a VW Convertable in the works for her first ride, and a '66 mustang. It's a family tradition. My mom's first car was a '66 as well, dad killed it, and I dupped it for my daughter. Just missing the pony seats, rally pack, and the red-stripe tires. All in good time...trash the VW for a year and I'll be ready to deliver. Can't wait for the Route 66 drive home :D They're all coming out again in August when she gets her sweet 16...a stinking v-dub, and the hint of the 'stang in the garage. I gotta get more proactive and make sure SHE drives it, and not boys. We know how we are, right?

(I'm ducati-less at the moment, they wouldn't let me buy it after testing and it goes back to Texas. It's ok...I dropped from 468 to 51 in the 848 waiting list. This fall? Maybe september)
