Anything to cut down the amount of cars on the road. Its ridiculous. I have a friend whose dad works in LA, but he lives where I live. He drives 80 mi/day. If there was a bus system, he'd save a craptonne on gas / environment.
Well, there is already a subway system of sorts, and I suppose it does as well as it can. I didn't mean that an underground is the only option for the area, just one idea. Unfortunately, with the way the area is set up, doing more underground digging and setting up of further subways is probably not the best option, given that the area is prone to quake activity.

A better bus system would definately help things - I think even more than subways, the area could use with more above ground commuter trains, and just hope the guys running them pay more attention. I know it's hectic as it is with all the freight that moves through town. Also, maybe more taxi services would help. I know they are cars too, but if more people used taxis for certain things, it could help.

Here, they are working on completing a rail line that extends between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, with planned runs back and forth. It will run right by where I have to go to work, so if the trains will run at convenient times, I can maybe use the train instead of putting 100 miles a day on my car. But if the trains don't run at early enough times in the morning, I may not be able to use it. I'll have to see what they do with schedules when the thing is done.

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

That's awesome! Hopefully it'll run often enough for ya :P

That's exactly what they should put around Los Angeles. There are millions of people who drive between Home (>20mi from LA) to LA every week, and a train network like that would pwn traffic in half.

[Political comment] Not that dumb $20Bn high speed rail between Sacramento and LA put on the ballot only to serve the polititians
[/Political comment]

Though I agree there should be something to go from SoCal/NorCal, $20Bn+ is way too much to put into something.

Especially if it goes towards employee bonuses at a certain large bank...
