I am in the same boat but on the other end. I vote by absentee ballot in the State of WA. They have been blue my whole life, and this election is no different. I should have registered to vote in the State of Colorado, my vote would have made a difference there.

Anyone know what these four Presidents have in common?

Obama is a smooth talker, and says all the right things. But he is a man of no real qualifications to be president. He was a senator for barely 2 years before starting to campaign for president. What really scares me about Obama are his associations, that he has played off as acquaintances. People that you associate with have a huge influence on you.

The American people want change so bad that they have become extremely vulnerable, and are willing to follow a smooth talking Presidential Hopeful with empty promises and impossible dreams. Hitler was an excellent speaker too, and we all know how that turned out.

I don’t necessarily agree with McCain’s VP pick, but I would much rather have a “Half Retard” has a VP then someone who associates with Terrorists as a President. I agree that we need change in this country, but Obama is not going to bring the change we need.

I won’t even get into what he will do to the Military, which is very near and dear to my heart since that’s how I put bread on the table. I will say this though, we can kiss free healthcare for our families goodbye. He wants to take our healthcare and give it to low income families and make us pay for it. Being poor or low income will give you more benefits then being in the Military and defending your country. It’s taken 8 years to half fix what Clinton did to the Military, it will take even longer to fix what Obama will do.

I was going to vote for Mccain but he seems to have flip-flopped on a lot of issues and I just want someone stable. .............. RALPH NADER !!! muhahahaha

I hope no one says that voting for Nader is a vote for the Democrats when infact isn't. Its a vote for Ralph Nader. He has been running for president for the past 5 or 6 elections and hasn't changed his views. Can you say that about Mccain or Obama? Just my .02$

You might want to read up on what Ralph Nader stands for. He is one guy that needs to change his views.

How is it possible that Ralph Nader has been excluded from the presidential debates???
This is the very man who for decades has been warning Americans about the savage greed of corporations and the financial industry and who has exposed each and every politician, Democrat and Republican, who have been responsible for working with these enterprises to help them maximize their profits regardless of the economic and human consequences.
American Democracy, Inc. has lost all credibility and it will remain shattered until there''s honesty and integrity in the selection of candidates for government leadership.
It is a travesty and a joke for a candidate to appear on the ballot but not allowed to participate during the presidential debates.
If American Democracy, Inc. wants to test its mettle it will have to let the populace listen and decide for themselves who else they like besides a Democrat or a Republican.

Agree with OcciferFriendly. I gave money to Fred, but he couldn't get it done. My vote'll go to McCain (who I kinda agree with but don't trust completely) and Palin (who is great - can't wait til she's at the top of the ticket!).

This is why we're friends.

For me, my vote was heavily based upon the fact that in the coming years, there are going to be some Supreme Court Justices who need to be replaced, definitely two and possibly three. Justices have one of the most important jobs in America, which is interpreting how our laws should be carried out, and they exert their influence for lifelong terms.

Scalia is enough conservative on the Supreme Court to go around for everyone. I want to see Justices who interpret laws Liberally (capital L, not lowercase!), and allow more freedom for American citizens. This is what really inclined me to vote for Obama.

Oh yeah, and the fact that Sarah Palin is the antithesis of feminism and freedom. Good job with that vetting, John McCain. You almost had my vote until you put this lady on the ticket.

What is ironic is the fact that I know firsthand how tough it is to make ends meet while in the military. I knew many military families that were considered "low income" and were barely scratching a living and living paycheck to paycheck.

The fact is, military pay isn't all that great, and if what you say is true, Joe, then making military families pay for health care on their own will only serve to fulfill two things:

1) No one will want to enlist or serve in the military knowing that the government doesn't have their backs when it comes to health care, (especially considering that we're still at war), and

2) A total and complete meltdown of the United States health care system. It's bad enough that there are so many serious problems with America's health care system right now. But if there are plans of taking away free military health care, this will only serve to really muddy the waters even further.

Personally, I like McCain. He's ex-military, and that counts for a lot in my book. We need resolution and closure in the middle east, and quite frankly, I feel that McCain is the best candidate for the job.
