I'm glad to hear you're getting back on top of things. Two years isn't long to learn that much.

Out of curiosity, if I may ask, does the stuff come to you like a distant dream sometimes or something? Or is it just completely gone without a trace?
After the surgery, it was just gone. Especially the math.

I looked up at the bags of stuff they had plugged into my arm and remember thinking, WTF is that? Then I looked up at the T.V. and Foxnews had the scroll thing going at the bottom. I recognized some of the letters, but couldn't name or read them. About a month later, I was actually learning letters and spelling again. It came back in bits and pieces. But I was so embarrassed, my wife was the only one who knew at the time and she didn't know how bad it was. Took me a good 6 months to be able to read a book again. I'm still working on spelling.

Like right now, my brain WANTS me to spell "Spelling" as "Speeling." Quite often, my brain wants me to move letters around in words. Just comes out jsut a lot. Lots of other words get screwed up too and occasionally, if I'm in a hurry, I'll spell something like screwed as screwded or skerewed. :heh:

The fact that I read 2-3 books a week for most of my life is what allowed me to recover the english and writing skills that I have.

You could always check out Firefox 2.0. It has a built in spell checker that works quite well actually. But you said you didn't want to use that stuff because you need to practice doing it yourself. Just thought I would throw it out there for ya in case you weren't aware of it :thumb:

Trust me Quakindude, I think everyone in these forums have a bad day, and will post stuff that don't come out quite like you mean it. Everyone here will usually read into that and not really think twice about it.

No big deal. I think the little kiddies haven't found this forum (yet - and hopefully never will) and nobody expects everybody else to 'be nice' all the time.

Sounds like you had a mini-stroke. It can be rough coming back from something like that, but it sounds like you're on track.

Errr - you didn't lose your taste for pr0n, did you? :P

At least you're trying bro. You know other people would give up and be lemons for the rest of their lives.

Glad you've gone this far.

I lost my desire to look at pron quite a few years ago. Kinda like shopping. Why go look at the new Corvettes if I can't have one?

That's how I look at it. I'm doing better every week. This November 18th will be the two year anniversary of my surgery. I think I'm getting on rather well.

And thank you to all the well wishers. You folks are awesome and I must admit, I feel a debt of gratitude to Blondie for introducing me to this place.

You got it!

That sucks. However I would like to say on a personal level that I do appreciate you going to Iraq and making that sacrifice for me and the USA

Also, since you don't care I would like to add that the explosion would make a good party story.
