Sorry, I picked it up early summer this year, and tried it for a few days & wasn't impressed. My old Nikon 990 took better pics than it did. I wasn't happy with the color or clarity of flower pics, which is what I use it for. Don't remember if I took people pics or not.

I'm shocked!
I think you're the first person I know of that didn't like the Digital Rebel.

I'm starting to think that the one you got was defective. I had the original Digital Rebel for a few weeks and it took excellent pics that no other p&s camera could rival.

Wow. Thats an amazing macro shot. I usually spend my money on computer parts but I'm seriously considering on saving to buy a Rebel.

Check this one out, I took it with my Canon A510 + 28mm-90mm lens from my SLR.
The poor mans macro is using a zoom lens with another wide-angle lens reversed and stacked on top. Found this to illustrate
Hand holding it in place in this case since I don't have the right reversing adapter for the Canon p&s

Canadian penny - macro shot

Sorry, I also screwed up on the part I quoted - it was the Canon S3-IS - you're 1st link, not 2nd
