Just as the theory of relativity sets an upper limit on velocity, his theory sets an upper limit on the greenhouse effect, a limit which prevents it from warming the Earth more than a certain amount.
How did modern researchers make such a mistake? They relied upon equations derived over 80 years ago, equations which left off one term from the final solution.
Miskolczi's story reads like a book. Looking at a series of differential equations for the greenhouse effect, he noticed the solution -- originally done in 1922 by Arthur Milne, but still used by climate researchers today -- ignored boundary conditions by assuming an "infinitely thick" atmosphere. Similar assumptions are common when solving differential equations; they simplify the calculations and often result in a result that still very closely matches reality. But not always.

So the very basis for which global warming "theories" are based is about to be tossed upside down if this catches hold... or it could be buried or ignored by greenies and false information continue to be spread...

Weather Channel's found speaks out against Global Warming (PDF)

The founder of the Weather Channel wants to sue Al Gore for fraud, hoping a legal debate will settle the global-warming debate once and for all.
John Coleman, who founded the cable network in 1982, suggests suing for fraud proponents of global warming, including Al Gore, and companies that sell carbon credits.
"Is he committing financial fraud? That is the question," Coleman said.

great I hope he is able to get a science based lawsuit to prevent assholes like Gore and Moore from spouting lies to further their agendas and stealing money from the public to do so. More and more scientists with hard evidence are speaking up against the IPCC and Gore and others saying that they are spreading information based on falsified or wrong data, so they are basically lying and refusing to correct their statements.
