| I'm Diggin it! | Only in a liberal scientific community will you find the bullshit that has become Green House Gases. If there isn't a cause to get behind, we'll make one. If there isn't a sky falling somewhere, we can always make believe there is. I just find it extremely amusing how every single friggin intelligence agency in the world was saying Saddam had WMD's and was poised to use them and the President is verbally impeached on a daily basis for going into Iraq to remove the perceived threat. The Libs would have you believe that not a single Democratic Senator was screaming for action with Saddam. Yet we can have a certain community of "scientists" say that GHG's are destroying the earth and the Libs jump in right behind it. Make shit up as they go along to support it and spend WAAAAAAAAY more money on cleaning up our environment than GWB ever thought of spending in Iraq. Don't get me wrong, a cleaner Earth only makes sense. But the bullshit the Libs have spewed forth and generated to enhance their tenuous initial position on GHG's is starkly hypocritical when you look at how they treat the POTUS over the Middle East. Fuckin amazing. | Colonel Calamity | exactly... yet looking at the roll call and who did and did not support the resolution to go to Iraq: U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 107th Congress - 2nd Session as compiled through Senate LIS by the Senate Bill Clerk under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate Vote Summary Question: On the Joint Resolution (H.J.Res. 114 ) Vote Number: 237 Vote Date: October 11, 2002, 12:50 AM Required For Majority: 1/2 Vote Result: Joint Resolution Passed Measure Number: H.J.Res. 114 Measure Title: A joint resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq. Vote Counts: YEAs 77 NAYs 23 Looking at the votes, Mrs. Clinton voted YES, Edwards voted YES, Kerry voted YES, Lieberman voted YES... yet each of these morons have been staunch "opposers" of this military action. So who's the friggin hypocrite here? Yes we need to go but not stay? Yes lets get rid of Saddam but let the people fend for themselves and become like Warlord run Afghanistan and many African countries that were liberated with Democrat support??? This is why the people with more middle of the line values voted for Bush and why many more this time around will go for McCain. Not because they support him or the party but because they do not think that a "wet behind the ears super liberal" Obama and "super bitch/super liberal" Clinton would help this country at all. There is a greater dislike for the liberal runners this time around than most previous elections. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Colonel Calamity | Very little of what GWB has done was his own doing. Pretty much everything he does is approved or blocked due to checks and balances, they have to be approved by an entire other branch of the government, and not just one or two other people but usually hundreds. He cannot take 99% of the blame that is out there. It is the combination of questionable support from those others in both parties that is making GWB and and the Republicans look bad when the whole time it was both parties f'n up. The last election was mostly about taxes and Iraq, both of which GWB had a good track record with keeping to the process as needed regardless of what big media or polls may say. The shift to Dems at the time was more due to several key Reps screwing with the people in their state and they had enough. Problem is that the ones they replaced them with are just as bad the originals so they are still getting screwed. Pelosi is the worst of the bunch. also I know its been all over but when it comes to Global Warming, who is more in tune and more adept to pass ecological laws and suggestions??? HOUSE # 1: A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not in a northern or Midwestern “snow belt,” either. It’s in the South. HOUSE # 2: Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every “green” feature current home construction can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67 degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes 25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers and shrubs native to the area blend the property into the surrounding rural landscape. HOUSE #1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of Nashville,Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist (and filmmaker) Al Gore. HOUSE #2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. Also known as “the Texas White House,” it is the private residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. Last edited by screwballl; March 14th, 2008 at 12:42. |

| Colonel Calamity | In 1998, the Federal budget reported its first surplus ($69 billion) since 1969. That is not due to one president but multiple presidents. The reason for this to disappear was not GWB but Clintons actions and budget spending that took effect after GWB took office. Budget spending has to be approved by the sitting president but most of the time does not take effect for 2-4 years after it was initially signed, in this case since we are blaming a single person, it is Clinton, not GWB to blame. the tax cuts and spending measures just helped to offset the serious downslide that would have heppened then instead of taking this long to affect us. I say if anything he helped delay was was already started in the previous administration. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |
