I can give you some advice on what my family did for me when I wanted an xbox360 for Christmas the year they came out. What you need to do is find a store in a.... "not so good" neighborhood that has them every now and then. We ended up finding one at a ghetto Target I believe. That worked out well for us.

I didn't know they were in short supply. The toys r us store here had 2 in stock when I was there last week.

Yeah a lot of the Toys R Us stores have them in stock just takes some searching - goes for all stores.
