Yea it was kind of ironic that they got beat the same way that they won so many games.

I thought Michael Strahan should have gotten game MVP. He gave one of the most outstanding defensive performances I've ever seen.

However, seeing Eli get out of what seemed like a certain sack near the end of the game changed my mind. He showed unbelievable determination at that moment, and it was that raw determination that, ultimately, won the game.

Congratulations Giants! (And thanks for putting the cheaters in their place.)

Carl

BTW, was it just me, or were the ads a big let-down this year?

Seconded for the ads. I'm not too much of a football fanatic (much less of a 'rican football fanatic, even) but the Superbowl is always interesting for the multi million ads. This year though it was pretty lame. Toshiba even re-used one of their commercial. :/

I was expecting to shut the game off halfway through and leave it be, maybe watch some highlights today.... but this game actually kept me there the entire time. I loved watching Brady get nailed left and right, the Patty receivers get picked off and blocked, and the offensive line just shut down. Both teams played very very hard and it showed into the 4th quarter. I expected Brady to buckle under pressure and thats exactly what he did. Manning didn't do much better but at least his offense stepped up and pulled the slack.
The Pats season was a playing card castle that toppled under pressure.

Congrats to the Giants (even though I am still mad over the poorly called Packers game )

Thanks HL and Corsair!

In a way, the Patriots losing is a good thing for the world....

The next time you see Sally Struthers in Africa or Central America, you'll see a bunch of little kids running around with brand new hats and T-Shirts that say "NE Patriots 19-0" and "NE Patriots Super Bowl Champions"..............

Yep, if that had been Peyton, he woulda folded like a lawn chair and started screaming at his teammates.

Was a great game, that's for sure. Manning amazed me in the second half. First half he was pretty jittery. But he pulled it out and won me over to rooting for the Giants. I didn't really have a preference in this game, I know my father-in-law was rooting for the Pats, but the Giants earned that win.

So rare to see in the Superbowl these last few years. The last time a Bowl game kept me glued till the end was when the Titans went.

Aside from the obvious, one thing I like about the Patriots being in the Super Bowl is it's usually a close game. I think all four of modern era appearances were decided by only 3 points each.

EDIT:

Super Bowl XXXVI: Pats 20, Rams 17
Super Bowl XXXVIII: Pats 32, Panters 29
Super Bowl XXXIX: Pats 24, Eagles 21
Super Bowl XLI: Giants 17, Pats 14

but ironically this one wasn't decided by a FG =D.
Well you can say it was since Belicheat's arrogance to go for it on 4th and 13.
