| I'm Diggin it! | Everyone on my street who has USAA are fairly frustrated right now. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. My next door neighbor has been spending his money with USAA for 32 years. I estimate the damage to his home to be some where in the $75k range. His isn't as bad as ours as the tornado was turning as it went by our house and the house diagonally across the street was hugely torn up, worse than ours. But USAA offered him $50k today to repair his home. The friggin engineer hasn't even shown up yet and USAA is offering him money to end their commitment to him. That's to be expected of any insurance company I guess as all of the major players are represented in the 50+ homes in my neighborhood that have been destroyed. All of them have done that. But USAA has been so frustratingly slow and uncommunicative with us, I'm done with them after this. On a better note, our house is empty, all of our stuff either moved or in storage. My main rig is now complete except for a case. I couldn't cancel that video card in time, so I now have it in the rig. I wish now I would have waited on trying to get this thing fixed, but oh well. Now my son can do some gaming and I can do some reviews. I'll start work on the other desktop for him and my daughter once the future money requirements become a little clearer. As soon as we find out something on the house, I'll let you folks know. Hopefully, no one here will ever have to deal with this level of loss, we estimate we lost 80% of our house contents, but if they do, I plan to be the subject matter expert on this and be able to offer good, clean advise. | This is beginning to read like a State Farm episode right out of New Orleans. These guys (Insurance Companies) seem to have no problem selling people their bill of goods but when it comes time for them to pay out they are woefully short in service and a check. Considering you have just went through great trauma you would think they would be there for you. However, getting them to make good seems to prove to be another trauma. You took out insurance betting you were going to need it and they sold it to you betting you would not need it. When you need money the worst it takes forever to get it and you have to argue to get what should be yours. That is bull****. My heart as well as Kathy's continues to go out to you and yours. Hang tight and above all do not settle for less than you are entitled to. Ron |

| Quakindude, I really REALLY suggest getting a lawyer to deal with the insurance company along with what screwball said, they will save you a few headaches and net you more than what you would on your own, even after legal fees. | I'm Diggin it! | It's truly an awesome community out there, that's for sure! I have a major construction engineer in the family as well as a lawyer. These two guys alone know so many people through out the South Eastern US it isn't funny. This insurance company hasn't even begun to see me get pissed off. | Modder-ator | I think you should look back to when you first paired up with your insurance company and multiply how many months you have been with them by how much you are paying each month. Then subtract any claims you have filed during that time and tell those biotches to pay up! |

| Hey, I don't want to sound mean or greedy or anything... But, if we win the raffle can we select what we want? Or will we get something random? If we buy say, 10 tickets and our name comes up 3 times does that we win 3 different things? I am asking because there is a lot of stuff there that can save me a lot of money and I get to help someone else out too so 3 birds are killed with one stone! Thanks, -robodude666 |

| Colonel Calamity | raffle meaning you most likely get whatever item your name pulls up... I would assume that if you really have no need for something there would be like 1 pass to another item..... i don't know for sure... I know there would be specific things I would like to choose but whether I win or not I am just happy that it is going to someone and something worthwhile! ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair!
