| Functional Alcoholic | Our basement flooded (Our House in Colorado) a few years ago. One of my computers that was sitting on the floor was completely emerged in water. I took it apart and let everything dry out for almost 2 weeks. When I put it back together everything was good except for the optical drives. Everything else worked even the PSU. As long as nothing was powered up when it got wet you might be able to use more then you think. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Agreed, I've seen plenty of water cooling accidents, and seen entire systems survive because they were not powered up.....you might get lucky and save a lot more than you think by simply disassembling and carefullt drying/cleaning the parts INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |

| I'm Diggin it! | I have made a command decision that was approved by my wife. We are going to take today off. No cleaning, no lifting, no shopping for stuff, no nothing. Heidi wants to go get a pedicure and Benjamin wants to go bowling. I think I might like to go see that movie Hogs. We've been going non-stop since the tornado hit last week and we all desperately need a break. If I look at that damned house today, I'll burn it to the ground. Yesterday, I got everything tarped over and/or cleaned out. There's hardly anything left in the house, the stuff in the attic that didn't get sucked out has been put into storage and I got a guy with a dozer Bobcat to come to the house and bulldoze the rest of the debris pile to the street. My front yard is trashed from all the heavy equipment we've had going through there. The city came by on Thursday and picked up all the stuff they could, but their boom could only reach six feet into the yard. The debris pile was 20 feet deep from the curb towards the house, 120 feet long and 20 feet tall. I have some pictures of it and will post them once the BB connection is up. On a different note, yesterday I found my copy of Windows Vista Home Premium. I had thought it was gone but evidently, my wife had found it and stuck it in my laptop case. So once I get a desktop built again, I'll be giving that a go. Well, time for me to take a nap or something. :proud: Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 4Gb Patriot Extreme DDR2-800 5-5-5-12 | EVGA GTX 280 1Gb Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU | Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan Controller |

| Colonel Calamity | Good for you. Take a day off. Better to do that and get some rest every 2 weeks or so... just so its not as overbearing and stressful. Of course if it was my wife, we would be at that house 16 hours a day until it was done even if it took several months... ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Lucky that your family made it through all that mess. Glad I can help. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. |

| Functional Alcoholic | Hmmm I always thought it was, What doesn't kill you makes a great story, and what does kill you makes a great movie. |

| Colonel Calamity | hmmm I thought it was: if it didn't kill you, you over-exaggerate the story... or if it did, you were dumb for doing it? In this case we know that Tom is more liekly under-exaggerating as we have seen the pictures all over the news and the intarweb ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | Oh, no...If it were me, Tom, I would welcome a break! I have this really weird aversion to work, so whenever I can get time off, I take it, LOL! My wife would agree, as 16 hour days are indeed hard on a body and mind. We have a relocation coming up in a couple months, and we're doing most of it with little or no help, so when we get the chance to rest, it'll be first priority! Take it easy, Brother, and get that well deserved rest! If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |
