when using the CC number, just the standard 16 numbers on front, expiration and the 3 digit number on the back... but the card does need the VISA or Mastercard insignia on the front to work

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Tom, I am so happy to know you and your family are safe. I can't even begin to imagine what you are dealing with now. I'm sure there isn't a soul that can imagine unless they have lived it themselves. My heart goes out to you and yours and we'll keep spreading the word to help out.

Hang in there Tom, as you know, you have a lot of good people that are here for you.

I have someone that would like to help out but would rather not use PayPal could someone please tell me how they can help otherwise? I need to get back to them with and answer. Thank you. :)

Jan
Contact me via PM and i'll give you tom's mailling address. the main reason we've tried avoiding this is so it wouldn't become a huge mess, with hundreds of different people send $5 or so at a time, checks, etc.....better to keep things organized. having said that, make sure they use a cashier's check or money order.

Best send a P.M to Capper and I am sure he can direct you to best method

Oops, sorry........fingers slipped onto the keyboard
They gonna ban me or something for mentioning it?

Edit: oops 2 and 3..........also posted at World community grid forum and Extreme Systems forums

You would hope that people would see this is something special, and not be so trivial as to not help. i emailed their staff several times, as well as Kyle himself, without a single reply or them posting a link. Its not the first time I've been disappointed in HardOCP, and I suspect not the last. This is about helping a member of the enthusiast community through something very traumatic, not about reviews/benchmarks/forums......but to each their own.

I believe Kyle has seen the effects of commercialism, which means he doesn't care as long as he gets money. Posting a link to help someone? Where teh m00neez in that?

The problem with that, and I'm not accusing anyone of this....is that when you make it all about money, you lose objectivity, which should be the goal and focus of any review site

I am not suprised at HardOCP's apparent lack of interest in this. Suffice to say, I haven't bothered going back to that craptastic site since late last year. Everyone seems snippy and curt, with replies to posts that drip sarcasm and l337'ish attitudes. Sorry, that kind of environment just doesn't evoke the same kind of camraderie that HL has going on here. I'd rather spend my time with people who have my back; not those who would rather stab it.

I think I represent the view of all the people on the XS FaH team, by wishing all the best to you Tom, and your family. I hope the donations can go some way towards making your life easier during these tough times.

Thanks to vaio for bringing this to light. It's a nice forum you have here, I hope you won't mind if I have a look around :)
