It has an LED backlight instead of the traditional fluorescent lighting used on most LCD displays today. This allows for a thinner, lighter panel as well as better color reproduction because the backlight can be very evenly displayed across the entire screen with very little to no backlight bleeding that traditional fluorescent backlight LCD screens suffer from today. It is better in just about every way except for cost, the technology is still pretty new so it will come at a premium price.

Ohh, I didn't realize they were talking about LED back-lighting. I remember reading about it last year. It's about time they started implementing that.

I know! LCD technology is getting as old as hard drive technology, and that is not a good thing. LCD screens need LED backlighting almost as bad as Joker needs a shower!

I concur only too much blake!!!

Anyhow...LEDs are just better. They can go pretty much 100% white, and can be completely shut off for more or less perfect 100% black.
