Now this is the sort of thing that really pisses me off:

This practice bears a surprising resemblance to what drug reps do for pharmaceutical companies in the medical industry.

Doctors are bombarded with free junk of "The makers of Prozac", "The makers of Lipitor", etc. A lot of it is cheap stuff like pens, calendars, etc.

However, if you start selling their meds, and you meet certain quotas and you endorse them, you can start to get nice perks like corporate vacations, free golf, dinners out, electronics, etc.

So what that comes down to is if the drug companies stop lobbying the doctors there is a damn good chance I can kiss off those free samples of Viagra. Damnit! Some folks just can't leave well enough alone.

With the exception of a few refrences to outside the computer hardware world, like pharmaceuticals, the article places a focus on computer hardware and computer related systems. Which it damn well should.

However, the real bitch is what that article covers is nothing. Nothing as in a very, very tiny tip of the proverbial big ass iceberg. You may rest assured what the pharmaceutical companys do far exceeds what Nvidia may be doing or is doing. What is happening with Nvidia is happening in every statehouse in America and in the US Senate and US Congress daily. When you have US Senators and Congressional Representatives bought and sold daily by Corporate America, how the hell can this come as a surprise to anyone?

The trickle down theory apparently does just that. Everything just trickles down, including graft and corruption and that would be corruption outside the operating system files.

The article was right on target bringing out what Nvidia was doing. Then too, was Nvidia doing anything nobody else is doing? Will enough people see that article and protest? Will enough people shun Nvidia for ATI? Will ATI include a free AMD high end processor with every GPU sent out for review?

Hell if we want the problem to go away we simply need the quick extermination of all lobbyist. When the trickle down theory applies to the extermination of lobbyist, things will improve.
