Default Re: New car dealers

I owe about $3600 on my current lease....I want that included in the sale and still keep the payment at or under $400.I know it can be done,I have played with the numbers....they know I know this as I have told them so.But they are playing the waiting game,of which I am always going to win. I really don't need a vehicle, but the price of deisel is outrageous and I dont want to keep paying the price for it if I can move to the vehicle I want, and still keep my payment level to what I have at the present time.

Most dealers wont offer prices and negotiation online, they want you to come in and talk.

My best friend has been a car salesman since I have known him. [Except for when I gave him a 100K to work for me]

If you want something special in a new vehicle order and are not buying an ad car, you better be ready to walk out of the dealership without the sale. Yes even if you might have gotten some sweet numbers. You had better check them.

Dealerships get "Kickbacks" from the Manufacturer for the number of cars out ... these are in excess of the whole rebate crap etc.

Hence the best time to buy is the very last day of the month. I prefer to buy on November 30th ... best deals of the year.

If you walk through the numbers do the test drive and still walk out saying the cost is too high ... "If it were just $2000 cheaper I could commit" .... then got buy a nice expensive lunch and a nice expensive whatever you want ... they almost always call you with more money they found in the deal and it will be about 1/2 what you stated ... I typically say ... "well lets meet half way $1500 ?" ... they say ... then you will buy it for that? "Yes" ... then they will sell it for that and try and sell you a bunch of extra warranty, oil change, extra crap that you don't need.

Believe it or not ... this can work on "Ad Cars" also ... a high school friend of mine owns a dealership where we bought our last car [A few Mos ago]... He gave me a sweet deal ... but I decided it wasn't sweet enough ... 3 hours later, the internet department called with another $1500 off ... [Manufacturer kickback ... based on them getting "more out"]

Oldman ... having a non-equity position is not untenable ... but is known as being "upside down in your trade."

They will sell you. Best time is the last day of the month.

I usually don't trade at all on new car deals ... but a few new cars back ... I did Trade in a 2000 F350 Crew @45K miles, Lift kit, Custom wheels, tires, Matching Canopy, Bedliner, Autostart Alarm, Winch Bumper, and 12K Warn Winch ...

It was a November 30th deal ... and they had like 10K instant rebates on their expeditions ... they pissed and moaned ... and called me back ... they game me full trade value "High bluebook" the 10K rebate and full retail for my winch and winch bumper.

I called the lease company which is Wells Fargo and spoke with a lady there. She tells me I can early terminate the lease under 2 conditions.
1) Return the vehicle, they auction it off, whatever they don't get up to the $14k, I have to pay them. Haha buddy.

2) I can sell the vehicle outrite, pay them the $14k and be done with it.Anything over the $14k is mine

I checked the values in KBB and NADA and find that the book value is way over the payoff.Much of this is due to the fact that I didnt run it into the ground,I have very low miles on it,and a complete service record of the vehicle.

The NADA trade in is $20,700 Retail is $24,150
The Kelly Blue Book is $20,535 Retail is $21,780(this # is lower, because they dont have some options listed that it has,as compaired to the NADA site)

I would say it averages about $22k for private sale asking price.
I searched on ebat motors and see that most of the same vehicles that are selling and or priced at that or higher and that nearly all of them have much higher miles than mine,in some cases more than double the amount.

Time to wax on and wax off me thinks.
