Naw, now me mudda at 88 she is old!

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional. I like the optional part myself. There is also some merit to age and being "old" as I am getting close to being able to retire. That means unlike those who are young I can get up in the morning (something I am thankful for) and do as I choose everyday. I like that prospect!

Also, some of us have to be old, I mean think about it? Everyone can't be young. It's like a rule thing.

I just posted to Capper we should have an Over 50 Folder.

Yeah, looking back, I am happy where the hell I am at. There is no way I want to do it all again, once was enough.

Hell I'm surprised I lived this long with all the stuff I did in my youth.

Don't even go there!

OK, the thread is so off topic why not. I was born and grew up in NYC and later on LI. I still have best friends that were forged in 1957. A good number of us are dead but the rest of us have remained close friends. In a few days I will head for W. Va. to see an old military and DOD friend. Then I will head down to NC to see some old NY buddies. This trip is an annual "Ron Thing" and the wife has no interest in it. Then in July we will head for NY and a big annual party and gathering we have every year on the beach. The wife likes the NY trip.

We will as we always do think back to when we never thought we would see 30 (The big Three Zero). We will look back at the 60's and all those drugs we ate, snorted, shot and whatever as well of those of us we lost to Vietnam. We will party our fool heads off for the weekend and hope the hell we are around to see each other next year.

You nailed it Joker:

I just wish I had my act together enough to have joined the military but I was just too wasted at that time of my life to have even considered it. Ah the memories of the concerts and drugs everywhere, uh come to think of it I was out of it most of the time.

Enjoy your weekend too.
