I worked on Garands extensively and still have a mountain of parts. I glass bedded many for accuracy and competition shooting. Ron

![]() Pictured are my M1A top and M1 Garand bottom. The M1 Garand is the one I completely reworked, glass bedded, and accurized. The rifle is now chambered in the 7-08 Remington cartridge. ![]() A closer look at the receiver sections. The M1A is pictured with a standard 20 round box magazine and a 5 round magazine off to the side. Both rifles are in walnut stocks. I have done a good number of "plastic" but love the rich walnut. ![]() The M1 Garand was noted for its En Block loading clip containing 8 rounds, the maximum capacity of the rifle. The exposed clip is shown in a bandolier containing 6 such clips. Those familiar with the M1 Garand know it is unwise to slowly remove your thumb when inserting the clip. ![]() ![]() The last two images show the modified rear open sights. Both rifles feature NM (National Match) peep sights. Not that it matters but both front blade sights are also NM sights. halutzparilla, I hope this helped refresh your fond memories of the M1 Garand and looking at the two rifles side by side it becomes easy to see how the M1A (Military M14) spawned from the M1 Garand. Screwball, loved the Hello Kitty camo outfit! ![]() Ron

| I love the walnut stocks on guns. Too bad everything is going plastic but it is better for weight. Only gun I have is a Browning 22 semi-auto but it's a damn good 22. |
