| I have shed fewer tears at funerals for friends than I have over the loss of some of our dogs. My dogs never lied to me, stole from me or deceived me. They defined unconditional love. More than most people in my life. Sorry about Jessie, I am sure you will remember forever a pet that gave you so much. Ron |

| Colonel Calamity | I have put down several pets in the 30 years that I have been on this planet. I myself am one that doesn't get emotional or overly attached to pets, since I see them more as just pets rather than parts of the family. I just look at it like there are more important things to worry about. I can still understand how it would be sad and rough on a family as the wife and daughter are emotional types. Hope you and the family get to feeling better. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| I'm Diggin it! | Our dog Kimi had to be put down in Feb 07. She was 14 years old. We got her when my son was like 6 months old. My daughter later said that is was so weird not having her around because for her, who was 4 when we got Kimi, she had always been there. You ever see that comedy skit where every time the guy or gal gets up, they step on the little dog and it yaps? That was our little three pound Pomeranian. Loved that little orange fur ball. And like Ron, the amount of emotion expressed when she was gone seemed weird to me when I take into account I wasn't as upset when my father died. But then, my dog never stole shit from me to buy booze. | I'm 17, as some of you know, so I haven't had as many pets as some of you, but I know how emotionally dependent you can become on your animals. I can have the shittiest day of the month, come home, and my 7 year old dog, Llyle, treats me the same, whether I play with him for hours before even thinking about homework on my way through the door, or I scratch behind his ears quick and seemingly ignore him for the rest of the evening while I do stuff, he's ALWAYS there for me. Four years ago when he was hit by a car, my world crashed and I felt the emotional tug when I was positive I had lost him. He popped a lung and had 6 major lacerations on his side, and now he's fine. He was "slow" for a few months, but he's still my fuzz bucket. I know how much a real loyal pet can mean to you, I don't know what I'd do without Llyle. Hang in there, man. |

| "you smell sumthin"? | I say this from the heart and really mean it. There is only 1 other site that would have had the couth, demeaner, respect, atmosphere, human kindness, love, admiration and down right all togetherness...that you all have shown. That is a site I played Yahoo Gin on with a Myleague team.Family oriented, and just plain "human".I was a league Admin. there for some time, and we were as close as it is here.Family oriented and a "safe" spot ,if you will. When chit hits the fan, there shall we be! |
