Appalling, absolutely appaling that any member of the United States armed forces would allow his wife to portray herself in such a manner. Bedroom attire is best left for the bedroom.

KATTERBACH, Germany — An Army spouse says her attempt to boost troops’ morale with a sexy, military-themed calendar has made her a target of threats, abuse and vandalism that she blames on jealous wives.
Alessandra Bosco, who’s married to Sgt. 1st Class Edward McCoy of the Katterbach-based 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, is selling a 2009 calendar that includes 12 photographs of her wearing a mixture of lingerie and military items.

OK, seriously this is bullshit plain and simple. Jealous wives when it comes to overseas assignment sure as hell is no surprise. With 10 years as a US Marine and an additional 10 years DoD working overseas I saw my share of the jealous wife thing.

Let's get real here. The majority of these military wives with issues are those who have obviously let themselves go. I loved the refrence to supporting the commisary. More specific the commisary stash of Twinkies!

Among these wives this girl has two things going against her. First she is an Italian National and second she obviously has not let herself go and boast a great body. Apparently one or both seems to draw resentment.

These woman, like most dependents I knew are clueless as to European culture and what is or is not acceptable. They are the same ones who always avoided swimsuit optional beaches based on some invented moral thing rather than the fact they were embarrased by their own sorry looking bodies.

Her portfolio does not even come close to the latest Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, I am sure viewed by their husbands. The difference is Sports Illustrated is just pictures of women not among them.

What a bunch of wenches (witches). What does that say for their husbands? Had my wife ever taken part in bullshit like that when we lived in Italy her ass would have been on a plane home the next day. Heaven forbid they should become a productive member of the society in which they are living or are residing, ie, learn the language of their host country, volunteer at a hospital or school, absorbe the culture and the mores of that country. Meaning, get off their ass and do something. Something other than a witch hunt.

Their husbands likely have their socks washed in kerosene to keep ants from crawling up to their candy asses.

The problem with most dependent wives overseas is they have a surplus of time on their hands to indulge in food. Those who pursue this witch hunt are little more than jealous little pigs who need a life.

The real bitch is the commanding officer of the unit. Now here we have this guy with a responsibility to the unit and the DoD having to cater to a bunch of disgruntled wives who need a life. He doesn't have enough problems with the needs and logistics of the unit, he now has his unit in Stars & Stripes over stupid bullshit. That's like comming to work and having 60 minuits waiting with cameras. This CO however needs to grow some balls and confront the husbands of these wives rather than make it easy and confront a single soldier. That is not right! Worry about doing things right and not a next promotion!

Hmmm, If I was a superior with a hot wife, I wouldn't want that. Not to say what this lady's getting is near being OK, I just wouldn't want my wife being on a calender my guys can buy and pin up. I'd have to pick something else not joined to me in holy matrimony or my immediate family. Maybe granny, but only a maybe there.

Just my stickler mentality and looking deeper into things than I should here, so grains of salt: Any morality gained is in hopes of nailing her, or doing it manually on a nightly basis to the picture. That's cool in small circles, but I'd have a major issue doing it as an FTL or any other ranking position in the armed forces. Just me, and not the actual issue at hand.

The issue is that the threats and actions are un-called for. I side with Hit, and the little chicken-bawk-bawk circles they form to just build up momentum on the dumbest of things. They hate people they've never met. Hell, wanna really get at them other folks? Put her on the USO tour and pay everyone in that period with dollar bills!
