If you look at some of the history books, they tried doing the same thing about the pinup girls in previous military actions/wars and it never really took hold...

I agree with the posts above, this guy doesn't have clue. Also:

---
Broun’s spokesman John Kennedy contended that taxpayer dollars are involved — “used to pay military salaries, so taxpayer money is, in effect, being used to buy these materials,” he said.
---

That's the saddest excuse I've ever heard. It's their money that they earned fighting for and defending our nation and now they're trying to tell the troops what they can and can not spend it on? What complete and total fucking bullshit.

EDIT - Rich already covered that too :P Heh.

And Paul Broun served for how many years in which service branch during which war or conflict?

I will offer 10:1 odds this guy never wore a US Miliatry uniform.

What really pisses me off is here we likely have a person who never served in the military, never walked into and shopped in a PX or BX and deciding what is good (or not good) for the military troops. How absolutely dare the arrogant clueless bastard!

Ron

Sorry Ron, you can pay by PayPal or cashiers check:

Paul Brown volunteered to serve our country as a United States Marine. He also became a Navy Medical Officer. A graduate of UGA and the Medical College of Georgia, Paul Broun is a family physician who has served patients for thirty-seven years.

Paul is well-known for being Georgia’s only 100% house-call doctor. He has served as a member of the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board and of its Long-range Planning Committee.

and I expect double payment since he served in both Marines and Navy

Lemme tell ya something. If it weren't for Playboy's and Penthouse magazines being available so Soldiers could go rub one out, a load...not a Taliban in this instance, there would be a huge increase in sexually related assaults overseas. This has already been proven when the Military nixed these things before. Went to Iraq/Afagn and guess what? The mags all of a sudden came back and sexual assaults went down.

Personally, I have no need for that crap. i don't care for porno unless my wife and I are the stars. But these follks are fighting for the freedom of American's World Wide. They should have the freedom to choose, or choose not, to buy these mags.

OMG, the pain! Just shoot me. Damnit, I run a post from work without research, and then to finish me off my friggin stock tanked!

***Ron politely excuses himself to retire to the wash room and scrape the egg off his face***

Then too, now my take is the guy is an even bigger asshole and right down there in Jarhead territory too. The pain that he was a Marine is too much for me to take.

Ron
