Really? Cuz as I see it, its just more of the same. Palin has a very checkered history when it comes to special interest projects. INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | I'm genuinely shocked - I had you pegged as voting for McCain. But this is also the reason I believe Obama will win come November. He'll obviously get the Democratic vote, but I see him also getting a good portion of both the undecided and some of those who have traditionally leaned right. The only wildcard in my eyes is if race ends up becoming an issue. I'd like to say this country is colorblind, but that'd be optimistically naive. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | I would hardly classify myself as a staunch conservative....I've said time and again that I am really middle of the road and I vote more on the issues than party affiliation. I wish more people had this stance on the election. Whats important to me? Fixing the economy. I still haven't seen or heard much from either candidate about what they intend to do. but Phil Graham gave me the creeps with his "Nation of whiners" speech. Improving education. Our kids are our future, and we need to give them the education they need and deserve....We need to pay our teachers better, and we need to better manage the curriculum. I also think we need to start doing a better job of educating OUR kids at the college level.....i know this is the "Land Of The Free", but we have great American kids who don't get the opportunity to succeed, but look at our colleges and the amount of kids that come here, get an education, and go elsewhere in the world. Healthcare for everyone. I don't see it happening, given the special interest groups....but we definitely need to fix a seriously flawed healthcare system. Immigration. This isn't the America of the 1800s.......this is a complicated and delicate society....I have no problem with people coming to America for their chance at a better life....but we need to stop making it easier for them to succeed than for our own citizens. We need to crack down on illegals, not welcome them...they are a drain on the economy, healthcare, and education systems. But don't just punish them, punish these companies that employ them...not a slap on the wrist, but make it really painful.....I think by doing this, our economy and unemployment will improve....because if those illegals arent here working for a fraction of what a job should pay, then companies will have to pay better, and people can afford to take those jobs. I think these are the same issues most of us worry about, and to be perfectly honest, neither candidate has really said anything about any of it......instead spending their time arguing like school girls. | 5 Minute Mod Man | There is still plenty of time for Rich and others to realize that the man is just a celebrity that speaks well but doesn't offer any true change. McCain as been been the one working with the other party over the years to push for real reform, which is why the republican 'establishment' wasn't behind him a year ago. And I know people that have always voted democratic and will not vote for Obama. I think it's going to be a close race overall, because Obama has 'star' power, but I will vote for McCain, because I have seen his true colors and know what he is all about. If Obama doesn't win, and he goes on to be a major political figure that fights for Americans for at least 8 years on the national level, then I would consider him at that point. But I want to see his true colors in action, not just hear about them. |

That Ad from the McCain camp was completely ridiculous, irrelevant, and the claims where just not true. Its Ironic that they would make this claim, when McCain has showed himself on prime time television far more than Obama prior to the election. In any case, maybe him being a "celebrity" in the context you are using it would not be such a bad thing, that is if the argument had any merit. As far as the economy goes, do you really think someone of McCain's stature can sympathize with the struggles the middle class is going through, and be able to make the necessary changes to fix the situation? I don't think so. The man doesn't even know how many houses he owns.

In all honesty, McCain might have lost a few votes by picking Palin, but he will gain a hell of a lot more because of it. If anything she just made this race a whole lot closer.

| Yeah, I was ready for another boring Republican pair (I was a Fred Thompson supporter!) of old white guys. You never know with McCain - that independent streak he's so proud of can (I think) sometimes lead him to silly decisions. He could have picked Lieberman and totally lost the conservative wing. Instead he picked a woman who has, for now, electrified the base and brought some excitement back. She is, pardon any pun, red meat for the rightwingers (yeah, I'm one of 'em). I think this is going to be a fantastic race. I know already who I'm voting for. Now if only I can convince my wife not to vote - pretty diehard liberal (LOL - we don't talk politics anymore!). ![]() |
