I am a teacher and let me tell you alot of us wish they would bring punishment back. As a teacher our hands are tied, and the students know this. A good kid starts at home, you can tell when a kid has good parent base. I have 2 students here in my office right now I would give a left arm to beat some sense into.

I've been through a lot in life, and come through the other side of it each time. But I don't know if I could make it through that.

My uncle's in the same sticky situation as you teachers. He went through a divorce a few years ago, and he's been trying to get his kids to live with him (his wife cheated on him, stole $100k of his money, and now set up my cousin to get in serious legal trouble after SHE didn't pay his car insurrance like she said she was).

My uncle can't punish the boys because they'll turn to their mom, who'll never punish them for anything. Considering there are no consequences to their actions, I'm surprised they aren't in prison right now :?

I feel your pain since I'm running a daycare from home right now and have 2 kids that certainly could use more direction at home. They call me the time-out monster because I don't let them get away with acting like little animals.
