OK, let's look at it this way. How much did Nathan pay? Nothing as in zero, nada, etc. Was the work the highest quality digital imaging? Hell no. Was Nathan quite happy and content? Hell yes. The last is the one that matters most.

The sig itself? Does anyone notice the fringe around the laptop? I do and it sure as hell could have been done better. Hell I suggest we just shoot the artist. For the price he charged Nathan he should have done better.

The guy did a favor for a friend. Nathan was and is obviously happy with and proud of his new sig. I voted YES because I figured Nathan was elated and as happy as a pig in shit with it. I wasn't about to nit pick the thing.

Nathan needs to fix his avatar before I do as it makes me want to vomit, but I said that before.

Personally I absolutely detest signatures. I despise and hate the damn things. However, I will say HL is the first place I ever saw that had them as a requirment. What kicked my ass was this place actually made use of them. I thought that was pure genius.

Years ago I was actually guilty of creating them. The phase passed. I was actually active in forums that made the things. I just lost interest. I did break down and create my own signature and avatar just for this forum.

Point is Nathan likes it and finds the artwork great so what the hell.

Screwball I really agree the artwork could be better. However, unless you want to drop a really cool sig in Nathan's lap let's say the artwork was great for the price?

It's not because it's free that you have to settle for less. It has never been a valid reason to get a so-so quality product and hopefully it never will be.

As far as it goes, as long as it pleases the recipient, I can't be arsed I'll be honest.

Just so some understand my responses:
I responded to the original question: how do we like it and what do we think of the stuff on his site. I guess I took it as it was asked and answered accordingly with my personal opinion. That is fine if WhiteEagle likes it which he apparently does but that wasn't the question.

If that's what a graphic designer is, it should be depressing for all those that want in the field. Mine's better IMO, and made it in 5 minutes while signing up for this site. Cut, paste, crop, text...that's what...well, just...not something to pimp.

@BoynBlack: He used Photoshop 2. Saw it in the preview shot myself. He got a whole bunch of imaging software free from his teacher at his school. He made his own signature and his site's logo as well.

wow photoshop 2? they are up to what version now, 9? 10?

They look decent and clean but basic which may be what you are aiming for. That is your choice, if so, enjoy!

I think you are confusing CS3 with version 3. CS3 is a naming scheme not a version number. CS3 is technically Version 10.
