Well, like I said, it was 96 when I was there last for ANCOC, so I guess as Dylan says, "The times, they are a changin". You could have it worse and been stationed at Riley, in Ks!!! Best thing about that place was seeing it in my rearview mirror. I'd take Sill over Riley anytime.

How many more years you got to retirement? Make the best of it and start looking into a civ side of working for Uncle Sam for the added bennies.

I have 8 left, so I am on the backside of 20. If all goes well I will retire right after my Son graduates High School. I am working on my BS in Network Security, and Management. I would like to complete my masters before I retire. My plan is to work for DOIM (Department of Information Management) at the nearest Military Installation to my retirement location, probably Ft Carson or Ft Lewis. Eventually I would like to work for the NSA.

"The question isn't whether or not you're paranoid, but whether you're paranoid enough."

On a side note Redleg everyone in my life who is retired military tells me the exact same thing. I appreciate it, mentorship from guys like you make things easier for us young guys. Wisdom goes a long ways.

All I can say, being an "OKIE". Is "Welcome to TORNADO ALLEY!!!". Seriously though, Ft. Sill really isn't that bad, and Lawton is a pretty decent town. It's aways from me but I have a few friends that live there. I hope the trip back to American soil is a safe and pleasant one, Bailey.

Yeah Lawton isn't too bad, it's actually a lot better then it was in the 90's it's been cleaned up quite a bit.

Well I shipped my 4runner yesterday, so we are down to one car. Hopefully it makes it to Dallas before we do. Cause thats a long walk from Dallas to Lawton. The movers are at the house today, so it's pretty busy around here today. Moving sucks, but it sure is much better when someone else does it for you. They will be here today and tomorrow, so the next 6 weeks the house will be pretty empty. I am keeping 2 computers and a TV so I am good. All that will get picked up the day before we move out of the house. I never realized how much Cat5 I ran in this little Apt. I have a cable going to every room. What a PITFA, it is to roll it all back up.

At one point, I wanted to be an AIT instructor...but first, they moved the school to Ft. Huachuca (ugh) then they totally changed the MOS, then they did away with it altogether. LOL....its all ancient history now.

Guess you'll have to be satisfied with the few imported beers at the Class 6, and what you can get at nicer beer bars. ($$$)

They even have bigger ones. And, there ain't no way, you'll chug one of those bad boys!!! You also have to hold it the right way while drinking, unless you want a beer bath!!!

Chug, no, drank out of one yes. At Oktoberfest a couple of years ago I got involved in a drinking game with some brits. Everyone got a different type of German beer. You then get dealt 7 cards. As long as you can beat or match the card on top you put down your card, then pour one drink of beer from your mug into the boot. If you can't beat the card, you lay your highest card down and then you have to drink all the beer in the boot. There are more rules to it but thats the basic game. Needless to say it got pretty wild pretty quick.
