I can't believe someone used "French" and "Occupation" in the same sentence.......If the French put 100,000 troops on the Mexican border all it would do is ADD to the immigration issue, as after they dropped their weapons, they would cross the border with their hands over their heads......I think the French Canadians have a better chance of invading us.....they are already torturing us with Celin Dion.

The Italians have the glass bottomed boats....the French have the "Fired once, dropped once" assault rifles.

Stixy, I've probably got about 4,000 posts, with all the stuff I delete... or "clean up", I'm lucky to be at 3,000

Alright, it was an example, maybe not the best. I tried to think of a government at least as pompous as our own being on our soil and telling us what to do about our problems. Substitute Chinese or Russian if you want.

If you have the opportunity, rent The Battle for Algiers. It is an interesting commentary movie filmed on site. It is an older movie, some violence, good acting.

As far as the French themselves go, I think Napoleon thinned out the fighting gene pool too much with all his conquests.

The Frogs are easy targets.....but us dagos aren't far behind.....trust me, i heard every "WOP<WOP<WOP" joke growing up.

Here's a little trivia.....what does WOP stand for?

The U.S. can not do what it needs to do to win this war. Thanks to the media, the American public (and the rest of the world) is fully aware of every move that we make over there. The information age is our biggest enemy, and it's the terrorist and insurgents biggest Allie. Where the media and internet helps get our soldiers killed and convicted of war crimes, the terrorist exploit it to broadcast their propaganda.

We are fighting an enemy, that cuts off our soldiers heads, and hangs their naked bodies in the streets of Fallujah, Plant 5 tons of explosives underneath a road and blow up our convoys, Run into our dinning facilities with a bomb attached to them and kill hundreds of our soldiers trying to eat a meal. They also plant explosives in dead babies, and wait for our soldiers to go to help the baby on the side of the road, then blow the baby.

Some of our soldiers do somethings that are questionable, and some of them have even committed crimes that they deserve to be punished for. Lets face it, there are some people in the military that have some pretty shady past. The problem is, when these crimes are publicized it jeopardizes the safety of every soldier in the region. Am I saying sweep it under the rug? No I am saying bring the soldiers to justice , but do it quietly.

To win this war the U.S. would have to do some dirty, cruel, and brutal fighting. The problem is we are bound by the Laws of War, Public Opinion, Political Correctness, and the Freedom of Speech. The American people do not have the mind frame it takes to win this war. If we started doing what it would take to win, this war would make Vietnam look like a boy scout camp. You can't win a game, when you're playing by the rules, and your opponent is allowed to cheat all he wants.

No matter when we pull out of Iraq they will have a civil war. Eventually the U.S. will grow tired of being there, and we will pull out. We will make up some excuse to save face, but in the end it will be because America just can't take it anymore. Eventually you have to cut your losses and go home.

I believe we should do whatever it takes to win the war, our military could do it. The problem is we are more worried about not violating the Law of War, or offending anyone, then we are about winning the war. So in the end we will just have to give up.
