Republicans will lose this election with the crap candidates they have now. Thompson is too old. Thats all we need more of the same as the last 8 years. Bush is the worst president of my lifetime and that includes Carter.

I look at it like this: who would do the least amount of damage to this country and still have the best chance of protecting our interests... I voted GW both times and do not regret it. I would still say Carter has to be the worst president in my lifetime. GW is nowhere close to as bad as Carter screwed things up and Regan had to fix.

No but the republicans have screwed the budget up so bad I think most want a change. Why has it been that when the democrats get in office and fix the budget the republicans can't wait to spend it. Anyway We'll see in November.

Last time I checked my recent Canadian history, the Conservatives weren't ruling in 2001 (They weren't even 1 party, but 3 different parties!). In fact, they didn't get elected until Fall 2005, and then they only got elected to a minority government (You Americans will not understand how tough it is to rule with a minority.) Back in 2001, the Liberals were ruling with a majority (and didn't lose the majority until Spring 2004) under the leadership of Jean Chretien. Blame his Liberals for ruling for 15 years (14 of them with a majority of the seats in the House of Commons) and not fixing the border before then. It took a scandal (Adscam) [and the right uniting under 1 party] to finally convince enough people in Ontario and Quebec to choose a political party other than Liberals. I hope we get a majority Conservative government, so we can fix problems like the border and criminals not serving much of their sentences (You can kill someone up here, get sentenced for 10 years (the minimum), and serve as little as 2 1/2 years before they let you out!). Sometimes I get frustrated at people living down east who stick to the Liberals like glue.

My hillbilly thoughts on presedents are as follows...
It's irrelevent who gets chosen to be "Presedent" because every one of them are puppets to everyone else around them,a scapegoat if you you prefer. They dont even write thier own speeches for god sake. There should be IMO , a group of guy/gals say 5/5 ,that run the country...mixed up from black,white,red, yellow....blue collar and white collar.And kick the rest of the asses outa there that are taking our hard earned $ and squandering it in foolish garble.I better stop here,I spent my $.02 and my heart rate is spiking
