| LiveLeak.com - Kite surfer thrown through air during tropical storm Fay Woman cuffed, booked for not paying library fines - Yahoo! News Woman arrested for overdue library books. Not sure who is the bigger idiot here -- the woman for ignoring late notices, which ended up costing her $30 in fines and $172 related to her arrest, or the prosecutor for cuffing someone over library fines. After a bit of thought I'm voting for the woman as the idiot. She ignored the library notices and got what she deserved. She probably could have purchased new books and given them to the library in lieu of her fines for less than $20, instead of the $200 or so it ended up costing her. On the other hand, library fines seem to be such small change that I'm sure they're typically ignored by lots of patrons. I always pay mine (never can get all those books and movies back on time, dammit!) but maybe that isn't typical. Yet another one... wcbstv.com - Upscale NYC Market Charges 'Energy Surcharge' Most of us don't particularly care what the snobs charge the other snobs to shop, but I just loved this part... "Zabar thought the surcharge would make people angry about the rising cost of energy. Instead, they're getting angry at him, forcing him to consider scrapping the surcharge altogether. " Well duh! ![]() Shut up and sell over-priced groceries to the snobs; but don't lecture them on the "rising cost of energy" (which is, of course, due to global warming) ![]() ![]() OUCH! Put up on failblog today YouTube - Skateboarding Fail Maybe I'm just a shallow jackhole, but I kinda liked seeing the slacker's shoe and his hat fall off! ![]() Last edited by gvblake22; 3 Weeks Ago at 18:55. | Japanese police arrested a woman for making more than 7,000 emergency telephone calls because an officer did not take her initial complaint seriously, a police spokesman said Wednesday. The 38-year-old was arrested on Tuesday on charges of obstructing police work, a police spokesman in western Osaka said. She made 7,177 calls during the day or night between September 14 and October 13 this year, sometimes shouting "drop dead" at police, he said. [That's an average of nearly 240 calls per day - this woman must be nuts!] The woman first called in 2005 to say she had been hit by a man, but the officer who answered her call "did not take the allegation seriously, because what she said was hard to understand," he said. "She apparently had a grudge against police officials," he said. ![]() |

They were never able to catch her because she used a phone number that was no longer in service, but for some reason it still worked. They caught her once by re-activating the line and calling back, and she answered. ![]() | |

| Woman Succumbs to "Greed", Loses $400K USD to Nigerian Scammers DailyTech - Woman Succumbs to "Greed", Loses $400K USD to Nigerian Scammers I like this part: "Mrs. Spears insists, though that she's no easy mark -- she's an active registered nurse, CPR trainer, and reverend who has married many couples. She's even fluent in sign-language, which she uses to communicate with her husband." Well, of course, because being all those things mean you're just not easily fooled, right? I would say she's been proven WRONG! ![]() |
