Ack! I came THIS close (||) to getting a Wii today. At Target, the workers were stocking shelves with Playstation 3 units right before my eyes (both the 20GB and 60GB version). Unfortunately, I was too late to snag a Wii, and lacked the motivation to drop $500-$600 for a PS3.

I think you misread his post, or at least what he was inferring. He wasn't advocating getting a PS3, but was implying that buying a console for the price of a PC is self defeating.

I like consoles, but there's no way I'm dropping $600 on one.

Damnit! Reading > me again. But yeah, $600 is too much. The Wii is a reasonable $250. I can also bear with a $399 Xbox360!

I was just saying if you have the money and want it, go for it!
