I have a real problem with "Letting things go"......if I feel like I've been wronged, or disrespected, I'll give someone a big piece of my mind. My wife is always like "Why do you let it bother you?"......and I have to tell her every time "Its respect". I do my best never to disrespect anyone, or if I have a problem I try to take that person aside and handle it privately. If someone had done that to me, saying something like that in front of others, I would have snapped and throttled the guy

You mind telling us what it is that you do? You say a couple of guys coulda been hurt "or worse" and that makes me think it must be a pretty important job, so now I'm curious and I won't stop thinking about it until I find out. Was Air Traffic controlling? Did you land a plane into the terminal or sumthin? Or maybe your a wrecking ball operator and you swung the ball through a porta john! The possibilties are killing me.

Sucks you lost the contract though. Things'll work out for a smart guy like you.

Life stinks.

Then they bury you, throw dirt in your face, and the worms eat you. Then about 1,000 years from now, some twit will dig up your bones and give you absolutlely no respect while (s)he trys to figure out what you had for lunch the Tuesday before you died.

See how silly worrying about a lost contract is when compared to all that?

Yeah, getting fired for no real reason really bites the big one. I oughtta know, I've lost a dozen jobs for that very reason.

Look at it the way I do. No matter what happened, you've lived through it, you didn't cause any deaths/maiming and jobs can be replaced just like "stuff" can.
Oh, I do look at it exactly like that. I'm in a bit better state of mind today, and much more positive about the future. It sucks that it had to happen now, with my move so close, but I look at it as a minor setback and nothing more.

They must have heard me coming and took off. When I got there the window was busted out and glass was all over the floor, but nothing appeared to be missing. I called the Police and my supervisor. For some reason by the time the whole ordeal was over I was fired. Some how they made it my fault.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Things happen for a reason. You will probably end up with a better job now that you’re forced to look for a new one.
Yeah, it's always the employee's fault, isn't it? I'm not worried at all, because I have two new prospects today, as well as the other one I'm working on.

But like was said, hopefully it will open up some better opportunities for you in the near future. What is this new job prospect like?
So far, it's making deliveries to Papa John's Pizza at night for $12/hr to start, then paid by the piece and by the mile. Not sure if I'm taking it yet. I'm used tp $18/hr and time and a half.

Therefore you really didn't get fired as a company you don't actually work for can't fire you but merely request of your actual employer that they not send you back there.

You also mention plans for going (relocating) to New Mexico in a short time. Thus, I wouldn't lose any sleep over all of this. I did a number of years doing contract work, mostly for DOD activities. Good bucks but the benifits sucked.

Hey, better things ahead.
You're exactly right. I didn't get fired so much as I was asked to not come back by the one company.

Yes, I live in Rancho Cucamonga out by the Ontario Mills Mall/Ontario Airport area. So...how much does tech support for TT pay? I'd only be there about 8 weeks, but I gotta ask.

Oh, believe me...I gave serious thought to picking his ass up and tossing him through the window by his desk, or just laying him out right there in the office. But, with my move coming up and trying right now to get other work, I thought better of it. I don't need this punk coming after me in a legal fashion or anything else right now. I think I've exercised great self control over the last year and a half, because this guy has made me think the above thought many times...

Not at all...I am a truck driver. I had to unhook the trailer I had and hook to another one, which I thought was empty, but when I pulled it slowly away from the dock, I noticed how heavy it was, which tells me it was loaded and not empty like I thought. I got out of the truck and walked to the back and saw two dock workers and a forklift inside the trailer, with the two guys looking at me like, "WTF are you doing?" I apologized and moved the trailer back to the dock. I admit it...I screwed up, but the thing is, the were no measures in place to make the trailer immobile, and it appeared to be empty. I should have checked, but it didn't seem to me that there was any reason to. Because no one was hurt and nothing was damaged, I really think the company overreacted. I know that sounds bad, but like I said, no one got hurt and it's not like I took off from the dock like a shot either. They're telling me that those guys could've been hurt or killed - and they would be correct - but nothing happened. So I think they should've handled it better.

Funny story: I didn't want to do it, but my wife suggested it...I told my boss I was going to consider legal action against the guy and the company, and my boss came to my house and took a written statement, and is now asking me if an apology will make me happy. I told him, "It might..." So now my boss is going go own this guy and take him down a few pegs...I'll see what happens with it.

Listen, I want to thank all you guys for all the well wishes and support you've shown me. This kind of sucks and all, but as I said, life goes on, and it'll be off to Albuquerque, NM for me and the wife and this incident is in the past.

There is really a place called Cucamonga? And better yet, you live there?! HAHAHA, that's great!

Anyway, good luck with getting that whole thing sorted out. Good thing you at least stopped to check the trailer!

Yes. There IS a place called (Rancho) Cucamonga, and yep...I live there along with nearly 200,000 other people - which is one of the many reasons I'm moving.
