| Yes the big Cummins ... The Predator ... a $500 line interrupt chip. I'd get another 2-4 mpg if I didn't have that 410 rear end. | Colonel Calamity | nice stinger... you know if you make a few adjustments and your foot off the gas, you could get over 15mpg instead of 8... my 454 pretty much sits around 10mpg in town. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

Warning - rant ahead!!! I drive a quad cab Ram 2500 4wd w/V10. Average 10-11 mpg. I don't need it - most days it drives a few miles and back from home to the bus pickup. On the weekends it is great for bringing stuff home from stores (for us as well as extended family), and once a month or so I'll pick-up donated furniture and household stuff for the less fortunate and deliver it to a central storage area. Back in the day I used to go whitewater canoeing every weekend and it was sure handy to carry all my and my friends' boats, camping gear, etc. plus pull a big trailer. I still love driving my big truck. Not to throw any (bio)fuel on the fire, but part of what is great about America is that I don't need anyone's permission to drive what I want (OK, except the wife's). Why should I have to justify my vehicle of choice? If I want to pay $100 to fill up the tank that's my choice, isn't it? If all the greenies in their tiny 50-mpg rolling death-traps want to look down on me, let 'em! ![]() Last edited by PTRMAN; June 5th, 2008 at 08:37. | |

| BAM-BAM | What is great about this country is that people are always buying and selling their cars. You could probably pick up a used compact car for pretty cheap to just use as your daily driver. This is what we are thinking about doing and just using the truck to move big stuff. -1 |
