Gonna try Pidgin this time. I may have a bit better luck this time. Then again, I may not.

If we have people wanting to chat, we could always revisit the chatroom. I turned it off because it really cut into the posting, but if its something you guys want and need, I'll look at it again.

I'd like it to remain an IRC channel though. It's just easier to connect to, and if you're ambitious you can even add a Java applet that will connect to it.

It will have more participation if it's more official. I'd rather not pretend to admin an "unofficial" channel anyway. Drop by the channel we have setup now if you want me to swap ownership to you or anything.

I don't have time for stuff like that......Sadly it seems a lot of people don't really realize the time, energy, etc that goes into running a site.......Writing articles, lining up review samples with companies, talking to companies about products and technology, proofing and posting staff articles, then theres the backend stuff like coding, organizing the site, and way more than i want to go into.

An average day is 16-20 hours sitting at my desk, or at the test bench. so you can probably guess that a chat room isn't at the top of my list. As I said, we had one, but it was eating server resources, and drawing people away from posting in the forums.

Most of what I do is stuff that I do need to do, but I'm considering some behind the scenes changes to the site and staff obligations to lessen my load a little and better distribute the workload....so i live another year, and so it stays fun for the guys who bust their butts bringing you the entertaining content.

well it worked I think. I will have to figure out how to get to the right channel in Pidign. If I can't figure that out, squab will be on the dinner menu on Monday!!!!
