| Hmmm, take a look at geology, then. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT saying that any science has all the answers or can tell you absolutely what went on and when and what the causes were. BUT - geology is built on logic, so IMO it at least has a glimmer of a hope of getting something close to right, okay? Reading the geologic record, you will see that there appears to be periods of warming immediately preceding periods of glaciation. Some of this evidence takes the form of (I think I recall the word correctly) shoess deposits. This is a very fine grain dusty sand that you only get when conditions are warm and dry for extended periods. Granted, at the moment, we - the earth - are going through some rather energetic weather patterns, not just an extended dry season. The storms, I think, can be laid at man's feet since all the heat we produce has to go somewhere (air conditioning just moves heat around) and as the saying goes, what goes up must come down. So, we pump energy - in the form of heat - into the atmosphere, and that energy comes back out as electrical storms, ice storms, hurricanes, tornadoes and so forth. We, man, are a part of the ecosphere of the planet. Of course what we do is affecting the planet and the weather, how can we not have an impact? At the same time, we are not soley responsible for current conditions as some of it is due to non-manmade causes. Now I look out the window, and it is +1C, and raining. Better than snow, I guess.... | BAM-BAM | who cares? aren't we all gonna get wiped out by an asteroid/meteor/comet? I dont worry about such things, I just use more sunblock when its hot outside and put a heavier coat on when its colder. This is an unwinnable debate. -1 |
