I think Cox and Forkum said it best in the past few days! more of a funny bit than proving anything

That was pretty funny... The idea of trying to prove global warming and getting frosbite...

How can we judge the past? Modern technology gets better everyday right? So who's to say, this didn't happen before? How much faith can you put into "I said, he or she said"? I just think to myself, " Enjoy it while we can", It could be 75 below 0". And it could be every day, 365. JMO

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by technology getting better every day...Do you mean for good or not so good?
As far as whether this has happened before or not, studies of ice cores from both polar regions strongly suggest that it has not, given the lower levels of CO2 present in sections of the cores from a given time frame, as opposed to today's levels.

And it's true that it could be 75 below, 365 - but I don't think we'd be here to care about it...

The Earth goes through normal heating and cooling processes around every 20,000 years, science has proven this. The peak of the last ice age was what, 15,000 years ago? So as the CO2 increases, so does plant health and quantity. So we still have 2-5,000 years to go before we reach the peak of this heating period and then 20,000 years later will be another ice age. This has been proven by climatologists for ages. It is just now these tree huggers and other types are using this to make money and show their hypocrisy (Al Gores $30,000 electric bill from ONE of his many houses ring a bell).
If man is making any difference, it will just cause the earth to peak this heating period faster at which time the earth will balance itself out and cause plant life to die off from too much CO2 and the cooling process starts. the offspring of the plants started during the peak will require so much CO2 that they will take so much away until the next ice age when they die off and the earth's atmosphere holds so much heat that the ice will start melting and the process continues.
I have done some serious studies on this throughout high school and into my 20s (which means about 15 years or more now) so I know 99% of these people claiming man is making a major difference are full of s**t. Maybe a very minor difference (like cause it to peak 2 years earlier) but in the grand scope of things, is next to nothing (2 years earlier on a 20,000 scale will not be the end of mankind).
It is like saying that gob of spit you spat in the yard will cause that full grown tree in your front yard to grow 10 feet because of it...

So if I stab you with a knife until you died, it's safe to say I only did what would have happened to you one day or another, right? But there's consequences to that, no?
By forcing things, making them go faster that they're supposed to, we're only making it worse in my opinion.
But yeah, you're probably right. Greece used to be so polluted. Asian air was never good to breathe. Water in many places used to be contaminated with nuclear debris...

I heard about Al Gore's electric bills, and that those claims were being made by people who were out to discredit him, and make him out to be a hypocrite. Now if he's telling the truth, and he doesn't have bills that high, that's one thing. If he's lying about not having bills like that, then I guess that just means he's a typical politician.
Your other point is well taken, and makes sense, however...does that make it all okay, even if what we are doing only accounts for a small portion of it? I've never thought of myself as a "tree hugger" so much, but I've never been down with the term for this reason: I've never understood the reasoning behind thinking someone who gives a s*** about the environment is somehow unbalanced or illogical. Think of it this way...You don't live in a dirty home, so why would we want a dirty home planet, which at the moment is the only one we've got. Just food for thought...

It's all about being some else's fault. If we all could live together in peace, would there be war? Would there be sickness? Would everyone look the same? Difference is what makes the world go round. Was any scientist actually there in our last "Global Warming" era? NO! Was there one in our last "Ice Age"? NO! So how can we put faith in someone going and "SAYING" this will happen? I guess I'm just a skeptic. Logic should tell us that we should do something different, but who here likes change? No one. What I'm getting at is, we can argue everything, but what dose it change? Either way you look at it, we use our planets resources everyday. Whether for good or bad.
