Doesn't matter you can always use it for next month if you don't finish it on time.

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Hey guys, I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the response this contest has gotten. I expected people to really show some interest, and put forth some effort in an attempt to win a $50 Newegg gift Certificate. I really think an hour or two, or even 4-5 are well worth some free stuff.

Unless people around here showing an interest in this stuff, its going to go away, and the schwag we've been giving away each month will disappear.....companies don't bother supporting stuff like this if forum members don't show interest or put effort into things. I really expected a lot more than 1-2 guides each month. I thought people would relish the chance to contribute to the community.

I just have to say, that between this, and the subscription thing, I'm really disappointed in the turn out, and reconsidering a lot of things about the site.

I think the biggest problem is that we have lots of lurkers on these forums who never contribute and are here just to ask questions.

I wish we had 20 people like you.....unless more people get active doing stuff like this, companies are going to stop supporting contests and giveaways.

I spent about 5 days on my last one...

Let me think of something to write. I don't have much to do this weekend.

Hmm... I'm thinkin' about making a guide to buying speakers (i.e. like a recommendation page).

Otherwise, I'm broke on ideas right now. :)

Yeah, but to be fair, it was a long write and took a lot of work. :)

I think I might as well go through with this speaker thing. Just maybe.

OK, so I started.... My god, I can write a lot. I wrote a page on the budget speaker recommendations (which consisted of two speakers by Creative and Logitech). This'll take a while...

EDIT: Sorry about the multiple posts...

It doesn't matter what the topic, and it doesn't have to be a novel......it can be something as short and sweet as Drew's USB Drive article, or like the Defragging article.

Don't wait until the last minute, waiting until 3-4 days before the contest is over then rushing through something isn't a great way to do things......start early and finish early, so we have time to look over it and ask questions and make comments....and ultimately help you make your article better.

I'm really serious when I say we need a better turnout for this.
