| Re: HL Investment Challenge #2 Game Its a pretty skidish market plus people are scampering after financial institutions still. I still believe high yield dividend plays are an excellent deal. As long as they are financially sound and not attached to any sinking ships ... produce a yearly return in excess of 10% earnings at todays prices ... how can one loose? There are some super performers out there performing over 20% annually and super solid ... buyin on a hard dip like this or placing orders at a charted low would be optimum. I sold XOM yesterday at a profit.....and doubled up on CVX.....when I got home today,both stocks had had a dramatic rise......before I could act upon it,they had fallin dramatically as well.I sold the CVX at a decent profit....but if I was home from the start,I would have placed all money in both stocks and sold when they looked like they were peaked,that would have put me in or very near 1st for the moment anyhow. Sure hope I get a rain day so I can trade more.It's a tad hard to do this when I get home just before the market closes as it seems,atleast for the oil stocks,that they rise in the middle of the day and decline towards the end.  |
