For once I agree with the Democrats, hell I not only agree but strongly agree:

Dems want pay limits, loan aid in bailout - U.S. business - MSNBC.com

The bullshit needs to stop and there needs to be some sort of accountability. I don't agree with everything the Democrats want but sure as hell have no problem with some of it.

Friggin' Get out of Jail Free cards offered by the Feds ... let the market correct already!

Next cycle coming ... that has not cleared yet is credit card debt ... will they bail it out when it is the citizenry who went credit nutz?

This is the last cleanout before a solid market correction ... perhaps the bailout might ease the crash so a rise can occur before the "GREAT CREDIT CRUNCH" is spread across top Newspapers.

Thanks Ron ... I just put it together a few minutes ago after 10 min of research. I may build a complete model as I might be overseeing a large investment account early next year due to a balloon payment coming due on the sale of a radio station.

Everyone should have 20-40% of their investment portfolio in solid performing hedge holdings such as the following 3 categories:

  1. Mining and mining related asset wealth companies or those that service them. [Must have good liquidity or well over 100K shares traded daily]
  2. Energy or energy related asset wealth companies or those that service them. [Must have good liquidity or well over 100K shares traded daily]
  3. Income producing high earnings and dividend stocks that have extraordinarily solid financials and good liquidity.
These need to be bought on the low at a charted low when the market is stable ... not when it becomes unstable ... the reason is that they can slide in price when the market does well. They spike when the market gets unstable ... so one must dribble funds into them over time ...

Lets say ... the market is doing well and you have made some profits ... after some research on these types of companies ... lets say you buy 5K shares of one of them for $7.00 or 1/4 the way above its 52 week low ... and 3 months later it has now dropped to $6.00 and you buy 5K more shares ... making your average $6.50 per share plus trade costs and almost right at the companies 52 week low ... if it pays dividends that are over 10% ... you are a savvy and safe investor ... because when the market gets unstable ... these stocks will often double from their 52 week lows wherein you must sell them and take your capital gains.

Just what I needed, beer through the nose. Thanks guys.

Now can we focus on investing.

We are all well aware of the "other game" the one not open to us sitting down here in the lower 48. Woe is us.

White Eagle, if you so much as mention that "other game" in this thread one more time I will Crawl from Cleveland to your house and eat your computer! Remember Canada is just accross this little lake!
