| Should have a sticky with it that gives basic trading concepts. So at least when they do the proverbial "fry the chip" by not following good investment management and protocols, they have at least been told basic skills of moderate trading behavior. Otherwise people train themselves to have bad habits and establish their likelihood of loosing in the future. | First ... limit orders are the best way to make trades. [A set amount versus the current amount] The rare exception being that you know something is going up [or down... Enron ...] and are willing to pay "market." Selling short is ... selling what you don't have ... believing it will go down where you can buy it cheaper at a later time. Even with delayed quotes and bad charting ... at about 9:AM Pacific ... [Lunchtime in New York] ... stocks that have had a strong run up in the early trading hours ... they show as being "over bought" ... and often decline a bit ... especially when lotsa people are at lunch. I simply sold short a lot of positions and "day-traded" based on positions being overbought and having a trend on the MACD showing they might slow down or go back down a bit. | I'm still making a trade every so often. The only problem is by the time I get on it, it is usually almost closed. ![]() |

I tried sitting on something that went nothing but down. I figured (very wrong figuring) on that move. The idea is not to buy/sell on a daily basis. Ron | |

| Trading can be a lot of fun ... when everyone is doing well ... problem is ... either you are part of a consortium with good info and are doing well with a lot of other folks ... or you are teamed up with people who are learning new strategies and doing well together ... or you have researched and studied and have the experience to do well. The key is ... doing well ... it doesn't happen very often by chance or accident. Best system out now is "Woodies CCI" ... at least most conservatively proven. I use it as one of my indicators ... to show acceleration and trend change.
