| I'm Diggin it! | This guy told me up at Fort Rucker that we would need our uniforms down here for some video taping the Doc would do. The Doc is giving us free treatments to get his foot in the door with helping the Military and in particular, to help prove through extensive testing that this stuff works for folks with brain injuries. I've no problem with that. But this guy I'm traveling with is wearing his uniform every where and the moment someone asks him about his being in the Army, he's going into his fucking story about getting hurt in Iraq, getting a Purple Heart, so on and so forth. I'm about to leave outta here and get my own friggin rental car so I can simply disassociate with this asshat. His descriptions to others when he doesn't think I'm listening or paying attention just don't jive up with what I know to be true about an explosion that causes brain injury. His descriptions of his issues are bullshit and I heard him saying some of the exact same stuff I said the other day when talking to the Doc's at Fort Rucker about my symptoms. It's like he's trying to get me to talk in front of him so he can "learn" what some of my issues are for him to regurgitate later as his own. I guess I could be wrong about him. But I've got a sneaky suspicion I'm not. This guy is just flippin full of shit as far as I'm concerned. I just heard him on the phone with his Realtor in Ga. going over details about his new house he's buying after the Army medically retires him. The shit this guy was going over and the amount of details he was recalling from memory simply do not jive with how he presents himself to the Doc's. Just my fucking luck. I get tagged with a friggin poser. I HATE talking on the phone because I hesitate and stammer so much. I'd much rather write something out because then, I can take all the pauses I want without embarrassing myself. This guy, he's just zipping right along. But to hear him in front of the Doc's, he can't recall a conversation he had 20 minutes ago. ![]() ![]() Sorry....I'm just frustrated and bitching. I'm out of my routine and am in an unfamiliar place. At least the owner of this joint is getting the Internet situation fixed. | Look Tom your situation calls for you to be where you are. Your ass is there for a reason and unfortunately so is the obstinate ass you are with. More unfortunate is the fact you need to be around him. When I left Nam as a medivac I came home to asswipes who talked a good talk but for those of us who were there their stories were all the same lame assed bullshit much like your asswipes. You are seeking help for a complex problem while he seeks sympathy for problems he may not have from the public. You both have to be where you are at but just do your damn well best to distance yourself from this asswipe. Especially distance your private conversations from him. You are there for Tom and not his showboat routine. Just focus on why YOU are there and ignore the maggot. Ron |

| I'm Diggin it! | Hey folks. A quick update. The first four treatments have given me a new clarity of mind that while small in its increase, is still an increase! I also have an easier time of it when first waking up in the morning. This morning, I woke up at 0400 and I'm almost ready to start driving. Over the last four years, that has taken anywhere from two to four hours to reach as my brain "boots up." However, as most of you know to expect by now, my bad luck has come into play. Very sadly, my step-dad passed away yesterday morning at his and Mom's house a couple miles from mine. So I am heading home this morning to stay til Monday. I will then come back here for my afternoon treatment on Monday, then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before heading home for the July 4th weekend. This leaves us in a tremendous predicament. No, I' not angry with my Dad for passing, but am quite aware of the reality of all this. He had no life insurance at all. Couldn't get it with his health issues. While his death was extremely surprising, it wasn't overly unexpected. But now, his retirement benefits from the Navy will stop and my Mother, who was his wife for just a tad over 18 years...none of which was during his time in service, will likely not receive anything more than his SS for a limited time plus her SS. So it looks like I'll have a sickly, new dependent here soon. It's still too early to know all the details of what will happen, but man, with these treatments lasting another month and then I'm supposed to go to the Shepard Center in Atlanta for a month at least, I'm at a loss as to what to do. We'll get it figured out I'm sure, but boy, I could sure use a break from tough times. Seems like it has been one damned thing after another since I deployed to Iraq in 2003 and TBH, I'm about done in. For the first time in my life, I feel like I can't handle something. Within the next couple of days, I'm sure things will sort themselves out. But shit. **Turns head to look heavenward** can I catch a flippin couple of years without turmoil or drama there Big Guy?
