Thats what a lot of people refer to it as, so I use it just for reference. It's just heavy metal to me, I couldn't really ever see them in the same category as Poison, White Snake, and the like. It'd break me heart. | |

| Awesome suggestions so far! KsE FTW. My 2 cents: If you like Maiden, you can't go wrong with some Iced Earth. Others: Type O Negative, BTO, CCR, Don Henley, Boston, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bad Company, Steve Miller Band...man the list goes on. For 'newer' stuff: Coheed and Cambria (Especially their first album), Saosin, The Fully Down, Funeral For a Friend, Alkaline Trio, From First to Last, Saves the Day, Yellowcard (the old stuff, not the new pop crap), Rufio, MXPX, FenixTX, Slick Shoes. I dunno, I listen to pretty much everything with the exception of (most) country and I despise anything 'pop', so my i-pod is all over the place genre-wise. Hope I gave you a few you've never heard of. | Colonel Calamity | mastermind and dig are way to "strong" for my taste but the others looked good there Xorn as for "hair metal" (the softer rock was known as "Glam rock"), the local rock station has a 1-2 hour portion in the afternoon called "hair club" where they play all sorts of hair metal and Iron Maiden is one of the more popular ones they play. It is all part of that 70s long hair metal based rock that continued into the 80s when it died off due to drug overdoses and eventually turned into heavy alternative and so on... |

| Wow. Dream Theater rocks my socks off Nate. Good find. You gotta have respect for a man who can confidently wear leather jeans and not look gay doing it. ![]() If you like them check out Orphaned Land. | Haha. A guy I know at my school does that. He's in a rock band and a bassist. It's almost like he's stuck in the 80s rock scene. Long hair, tight pants (I've seen leather and gold), and a loose dress shirt. Strange but awesome. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |
