I will go see the doc about Zyban/Buproprin... I have been smoking since I was 15 so that means 14 years now... minus about 6 months when my Daughter was born (5 years ago).

Oh definitely, I wouldn't recommend going on post, I'd recommend using a civilian doc.....remember this stuff was invented as an anti-depressant, so asking the military for it could pose a few issues

Just as a side note, there are a small majority of people that get headaches/migraines from it. It is a small percentage, but I just happened to be one. It did not help that I have a history of really bad tension headaches, the kind that you feel better hitting your head against the wall. Mine prescription was not for nicotine, but for my French Canadian temper. Speaking of hitting the wall, is there a emote post or link?

I have heard a lot of good things like Rich is saying. I don't think it will show up on a piss test, not 100% sure though. I did look at if I wanted to go back in the Air Guard and I happen to know the local MEPS head Dr. and she said I would have to get a waiver if I stayed on the meds I am on that are similar. Oh the temptation to play with Air Force networking gear.

I called the community health nurse yesterday and got signed up for the tobacco sensation class starting Thursday. They will give me Zyban/Wellbutrin and nicotine replacement products. Hopefully it will work.

On the serious side, several of us here know the difficulty of what you're trying to do, and we're here for you, what makes it doubly tough is the atmosphere and culture you're in, being in the military and all.....but I know you'll kick the habit.

Deep Breath, AAHHHHH, Sigh, Honestly I am gonna miss it. My quit date will be 1 June. I have to go through 2 classes (every Thur) before I get my drugs.

Ain't that the truth!!! And then, after the Tobacco Cessation classes, Family Advocacy (sp) wants to get involved, then you're ruined. Not to get off track, but if you drink more than 2 beers on a weekend, you're an alcoholic, according to Family Advocacy!!!
