When i was in Iraq, at Christmas time I really enjoyed getting the Hickory Farms gift packs. I love sausage, cheese and crackers so it was a bonus. My sister sent me a little Christmas tree so I could decorate my 3'x7' space, that helped it feel more like Christmas. Snacks of any kind are always good. They have PX's there now so they can get most everything they need. Its nice to get little things that remind you of home, Like Moms Homemade cookies.

We had guest speakers today in honor of veterans day. We had 3 speakers, a vet. from WW2 (couldn't understand what that guy was saying, but he was awesome), A vet. that served in both desert storm and Iraq, and a vet. from Vietnam. The Vietnam veteran said that hygiene was horrible, you had a shower every 3 months, your clothes would rag down and tear, and your socks would rot to your feet.

Though I'm sure hygeine has improved substantially, I would assume it would be nice to get a gift containing both Rich's and Hitman's thoughts.

Being an Army guy myself, I always appreciate those who try to do good things for the service members overseas. That being said, please understand that I have 10-15 peeps I'm sending stuff to every month already. If someone could send me Simple Inhibitions addy, I'll send some stuff his way. It just won't be a whole lot. What kind of books do you like and mags?

I have gotten used to the Plastic Copenhagen Cans. Out of the 11 years I have been in Army I have spent 8 of them overseas. "Careful what you ask for you just might get it" When I first came in the army I wanted to travel. I sure have traveled, so much in fact, that I can't stand to fly anymore.
