| Since we live right next to a golf course, our first thought was that a golf ball hit the window. Or if not that, a bird. We also thought rock, bebe or bullet, or some smart ass on our deck kicking in the glass then taking off. No golf balls were found, no bebes and no bullet holes in the kitchen across from the door. No birds (that would've been a bloody, feathery mess) and no unusual rocks in the vicinity - and who could tell there, since the area outside our deck is nothing BUT rocks. And we would've heard someone jumping out of the deck area. But the impact point on the glass is pretty low. I was trying really hard to figure how a golf ball could have hit the bottom part of the door, since a wall is in the way. The golf course runs parallel to our place, and is not wide enough that someone standing on the other side could hit a ball and NOT hit our place, and according to the maintenance guy, the nearest tee is in the wrong place at the wrong angle for someone to have hit our window. It is very possible, but not likely here, that someone could just stand outside our deck and chuck a rock at the glass. But the maintenance guy looked at the door and found that it wasn't broken on the outside like we thought, but from the inside. And given the low point of impact - right at cat level - we figured that a cat had to have done it. We did see a rabbit hanging out near the back of our place, and it probably came onto the deck area, and the cat likely saw it and lunged at it, striking the glass in the process. Not that we are glad to know a cat did it, but it left all the other possibilities in the dust. And fortunately, we aren't going to be charged for the new glass. And since we have 8 cats...we'll likely never know which one did it. If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! Last edited by Gig-O-Ram; September 23rd, 2007 at 02:02. |

| No - no collars on any of them. I suppose one of them could have flipped and hit the door with its body...anything is possible with a cat. We do have a cat that weighs about 15-16 pounds, but whether he was the one that did it - who knows? If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |
