Now Joker, all presidents have lied to the American people, and that holds true of the last president. Matter of fact, today is a great anniversary I think. how many presidents know what every single one of the soldiers are doing at all times??? got to be some sort of psychic or crazy person to be able to know where millions of people are and what each of them are doing around that world at all times. He is forcing the responsibility where it belongs, to the person doing it and their Sargent and whoever knows about it..

Not so much that he has to know what every soldier is doing but the fact that he thinks he can do whatever he wants since the terrorist act was signed. Biggest loss of rights in Americas history.

Yes Clinton lied about sexual relations but that has squat to do with anyone other than his wife. At least I felt he had half a brain and wasn't being manipulated by others in the administration. Bush is just a idiot.

Slick willy was THE manipulator... compared to GW being the one that is manipulated. This thing is that there is a strong support from both parties on letting this run through. If it was shown that he was guilty of anything relating to these tortures or other issues then it would have already been stopped.

No, the case of Clinton was not between him and his wife. Lying to his wife was one thing, He also lied to a Grand Jury and if you or I lied to a grand jury our ass would be grass.

Point is it did get that far as a result of other lies. Really matters not and has no bearing on this latest and greatest. Personally I despised Clinton. Hey cool with me, I lived through those 8 years. I am not exactly a Bush fan either but he happens to be the one in office right now.

What this comes down to is "Bush Pardons Himself" which could not be further from the truth. At this point nobody has been pardoned for anything, therefore the title of the thread is as misleading as the spin CNN has placed on pending legislation. The operative word being pending.

Now the fact is Bush did not and has not pardoned himself. The fact is Bush did not sit down one evening and say "Gee, I am bored and I think I will write a bill to bring before the US Congress and Senate to exclusively pardon me". Not quite the case but again that is exactly how the title comes accross. Sort of deception or deceiving much like the video clip.

My first post in this thread reflected humor. Something to the effect of Bush would not be that bright, which did bring a chuckle. In conclusion and in reality Bush has not pardoned anyone, let alone himself. The bill if passed pardons more the military interrogators and a large mass well beyond their Commander and Chief. However, some people see this as an opportunity to focus on a single individual using a spin.

Has anyone read the entire bill? What does it say exactly? Not selected verse but the entire bill.

Additionally, when Clinton lied, he lied not just to a grand jury but the entire Americal population on national TV. On a good note I do feel blow jobs are better than no jobs.

Exactly, that was the point I was going to make as well. Bush is well on his way out, and therefore, he can't possibly make things worse than they already are.
