I think millions of people would strongly disagree with you about the Madden franchise.

As to quitting the industry, you have no idea....

you're right, I don't know how to quit... but I am not alone

relating to EA... the only reason they really sell so much is they put themselves all over the place and make it sdo that there is little other choice. Yes the original madden games back with the Sega Genesis were cool games in their day but all of their games have been somply updated with the same basis and formula... but if there is little other choice to get name brand players then of course they will get sales...

screwball, you're just anti-exclusivity lol.
I for one do agree Madden wasn't the best game available, 2k's Football was. But look at the other side, EA had the BEST Baseball game with their MVP Franchise, but 2K bought it out and the games haven't been the same since. Its not just EA, its everyone. Although i do enjoy madden still, like the Fifa series, lots of people are Pro Evolution, im still Fifa =D

true... I just don't care for one company trying to keep control of specific areas of a market... to me that seems like EA has a monopoly on the football games... who wants to play an awesome football imitation game with Breet Farvah when you can play a substandard Madden game as Brett Favre... the titles make a big difference to me and others, which is likely why they continue to make money off of it...

I'm anti-exclusivity too, at least in situations like this. It sucks that EA holds all the NFL licensing rights for games.

Be that as it may, I won't say that the Madden franchise sucks by any means. It's still the definitive standard, and each release gets better from the last. It's not always revolutionary, but when I can bomb down field to Randy Moss time and again while Rich throws his controller across the room in frustration, I feel like I'm really coaching from the sideline and watching the other team's reaction.

And no, we won't talk about the Giants.

I'm not saying the games are really bad but there are better games out there that could represent the NFL (or other sports) better than exclusivity can allow.
