It does make a wierd noise at 80 kmph. I think its the exhaust vibrating. I have to get some brackets to fix it. I also have to figure out with the backup lights don't work. Think it might be a wiring issue. I hope not.

Yes I live in Germany so all the road signs are already in KM. I am just used to my truck that has both KM and Mi. The BMW just has KM.

Well I figured out what was making the weird noise at 80 kph. There is a plastic piece that fits on the bottom of the car in the front that goes from wheel well to wheel well across the bottom of the engine. It attaches to another plastic piece that’s on the front of the car under the bumper. The Bottom piece came loose and was flapping against the bottom of the engine. I re-attached it with some redneck engineering (drilled holes and fastened it with screws).

I felt it was not Autobahn worthy. So I took it for a test drive. I got it up to 200 kph (125 mph), and got a little nervous so I slowed back down. I tried to take a picture of the speedometer at 200 kph, but the picture kept coming out blurry, and it’s hard to press the button and drive that fast :). I will bring my wife with me tomorrow and try it again.

I drive 120 mph all the time. My 4Runner hits the speed limiter at 125 mph, so I got used to driving 120 mph. I think the BMW will probably do 130-140 easy. I still had a lot of peddle left at 125.

My wife is used to me driving that fast. I usually stay between 90 and 110 only going up to 120 to pass. At 110, I am still getting passed. Most of the time the traffic in the right lane travels between 80 and 100. Driving here is very different then in the states, just ask Captain Crunch.

I worked with a guy that took a picture of his speedometer while on a motorcycle at 125 MPH. Not the smartest thing to do on a bike but a car is quite a bit different.
