Roughly 50 mph, I seem to have read somewhere. Give or take 5-10 miles.

I kept think he was going to come out of a hairpin
and see a large truck stalled...

I can't imagine what it was like for those guys on scooters/mopeds/motorcycles to be passed by some guy on skates. Skates>them.
