Really, what people (soldiers or people wanting to become a soldier) want and deserve is respect, not ego flattering stuff like that IMO. Sentences like those only make the US look like it want to be ruler of the world, while their people should be minded in a different way. Something more like "I want to make a difference" not like "I want to make a difference ... for the United States of America".
I'm not saying it's worse than past commercials or wanting to bring US down on their ads, but if I take for example Canada ads for army recruiting you'll see they're aimed on camaraderie and they often tell that you can actually make a difference. Nothing like "Hey you can bust some punk arse in the Army!". They should include more stuff like at 0:33, 0:53, 1:27 and 1:59. I can understand they want to get the most people, maybe even some cannon fodder that only want to pull a trigger, but yeah ...big 'copters, explosions and shooting down people don't recruit alot of people anymore.
