I've two other tours in Korea. This will be my third. My last time over I was stationed at the Hump.

I'm going to look into it further Ron. But if the Army tells me to either go or get out, I'll end up going.

I just couldn't afford to NOT be in the Army right now with all the issues I still have.

Tough luck dude, but there are worse places to be. Korea is at least warm this time of year, not to mention they love technology and are near Japan and China (I bet you can find stuff the Chinese have copied and made better there as well as new Japanese gadgets!).

You have obviously never been to Korea, it's freaking cold this time of year. They have some really cold winters in Korea, and blistering hot summers. Not to mention the whole country smells like shit.

Yeah, take the tour and then retire. Really sucks as you get to be a short timer and catch orders like those. However, exactly as you mention, you are not currently in the best position to bargain. Also, what the hell, as you mention it's not like you haven't been there and there are worse places to be.

Me thinks the White Eagle is in minor need of Geography 101. The Korea I am familiar with is having tempreatures of about 21 Deg. F. and it is evening there right now. That is friggin cold.

Korea is pretty good for electronics. The downside is they base everything off of 220V power.

Yeah, it's pretty friggin cold over in Korea. One of the worst ice storms I've ever seen was in Korea near the DMZ in 1991. We got stuck at our field site for an extra two weeks due to severe icing. There was no safe way to get the ice off our helicopters, so we couldn't even start them up.
