Oh man, you should be using macs at school enough that if you somehow manage to get one, you'll not even what to change the OS. Hey if you really want a mac to fool around with you should sign up for the computer raffle they have at the end of the year at your college. You only have to pay $100 for a G5 that they don't want. My friend actually won one. Let me know if you want details, although you should get an email about it in your student account toward the end of the semester. :)

As long as you are able to run whatever game on OSX that they're playing, then you won't have any problems. OSX, Linux and Windows all use the same network protocols.

Yes that is correct, All that matters is that your running TCP/IP OS does not matter. Games get tricky, you have to make sure your running the most current updates and patches for your OS. Movies, Music, what ever you can transfer between diffrent OS's.

The game has to be supported under OS X, and I know for a fact CS:S is not. Some guys have gotten it to run on Intel Macs.

OSX is the shiz. I love it and use it everyday. I installed OSX on my Dell. Runs like a charm, but it's a pain getting it to that point. I need a bigger HD though. 160GB isn't enough for having a 125GB XP partition and a 20GB OSX partition. I have like 30GB left on XP. Darns.

Games need to be supported for OSX. They have Mac only versions of a lotta games. Hit up your local Apple store.
