| A Lonely Geek | I live about 100 miles from the casinos in Robinsonville MS, there are a bunch of them there, I have no idea how many....MGM Grand, Sheraton, Fitzgeralds, probably 10 more. I haven't been in probably 7 or 8 years, since my kids moved in with me from my ex-....she lives near there, and I would go occasionally after taking them back home. We would go to eat the cheap food, and spend maybe 40-50 bucks on the slots. The places don't excite me at all. The only reason I might would go there now is to catch a concert, but I don't always keep up with who and when. I know that Booker T and the MGs play there once a year or so, and I'd like to catch them before they get too old to perform. Hoping maybe someday that Joey Defrancesco shows up there. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Funny thing is, Vegas has laws governing the rate of return on their slots....with the lowest paying back 94% of the money gambled.....most are at 99%. The indian casinos popping up EVERYWHERE are not governed by the gaming commissions or government, and I read a study recently where the casinos in California have paybacks between 60-65%, which is horrible. I have no idea why anyone would gamble at those establishments.....especially since the indians sold out their rights to the money for a quick payout, with most of the casinos run by companies outside the US, some with even terrorist ties. | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Not to get into the whole "Our Land...Their Land" argument........but who knows who the indians took the land away from before we took it away from them? I'm not trying to be insensitive, or politically incorrect, but its called "Natural Selection" which is basically survival of the fittest, and it happens throughout nature, not just with humans. I also think that people, in their attempt to be politically correct, that people create far more problems than they solve......where do you stop? where do you draw the line between whats reasonable and whats absurd? | Level 2 College Student | I had a bad experience at Chumash a couple months ago........ I won $400 on a straight flush at 3-card poker. But lucky for me I lost 50 Euros in Helsinki's Grand Casino, so I figure I learned my lesson there :P Funny story, when I was at Chumash, a guy came on and put $15 on the table and played the round blind. Then he had the dealer un-veil his cards, and he had 3 of a kind. Turned 15$ into $300 in 30 seconds. ![]() ![]() |
